We are seeking DevOps Engineers who are passionate about marrying data with emerging technologies to join our team. As a DevOps Engineer, you'll have the opportunity to be on the forefront of driving a major transformation within Capital One.

We are the Enterprise teams leading an initiative for CapitalOne for improving Developer Experience and Productivity by unleashing the full potential of AI for transforming how we build Software. We are a team of Software Engineers, CI/CD Support Engineers, Project and Process Managers. Our mission is to build Software utilizing the power of GenAI and Agentic AI that empower Software Developers with the Knowledge they need to excel at their jobs, and the Support they need to remove obstacles and blockers as they emerge during the Software Development.

Enterprise Platforms Technology (EPTech) comprises many of Capital One's most important enterprise platforms. We play an essential role in establishing practices for building technology solutions across the company, while also delivering capabilities that exemplify those practices.

What You'll Do:

  • You are self-driven, actively looking for ways to improve and contribute, and knowing how to drive strategy to get things done. You would need AWS infrastructure technical knowledge, a sincere willingness to improve, people skills and dedicated focus on the tasks
  • You will bring a customer focus mindset and lead critical IT initiatives for improving Developers' productivity across several stages of the Software Development Life Cycle.
  • You will bring passion for partnering closely with the Engineers building RAG and LLM based GenAI applications that enable Chat bot based self-service features for the Developer's community.
  • You will apply your hands-on experience with Cloud native CI/CD pipelines for quickly ramping up with the CapitalOne CI/CD solution that is built using Jenkins, Python, Terraform, AWS boto3 APIs, CDK for IaC, github, artifactory.
  • Your Technical skills, excellent communication, patience, data analysis, and effective problem-solving will play an important role in leading a team of Support engineers who troubleshoot CI/CD pipelines failures and unblock Software Developers for Software build & deploy
  • You bring solid experience with site reliability engineering mindset and create Cloud-based Infrastructure solutions that are resilient, supportable and observable at all layers of the stack.
  • Effectively communicate with and influence key stakeholders across the enterprise to create meaningful roadmaps ensuring the most important work is prioritized for reducing load on the Support Engineers and increasing self-serviceable solutions to improve Developers' experience.
  • Lead the way in developing next-generation talent for Tech, mentoring internal talent and actively recruiting external talent to bolster Capital One's Tech talent

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree
  • At least 6 years of experience in DevOps Engineering (Internship experience does not apply)
  • At least 4 years of experience with Cloud Native technologies (Amazon Web Services, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud Platform)
  • At least 6 years of Unix or Linux system administration experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 9+ years of Developer Support experience preferably all in DevOps domain
  • 4+ experience with both software engineering and scripting (Python, Groovy, SQL, Java, JavaScript, Golang, Bash, Perl or Ruby)
  • 4+ years of experience in designing and building Cloud infrastructure design and delivery solutions
  • 3+ years of experience with building CICD Pipelines with Jenkins, Artifactory, GitHub and monitoring tools (Splunk, New Relic)
  • 3+ years of experience with Serverless & Container services including Docker, ECS, Fargate, Lambda
  • 3+ years of experience working with Agile Development Practices, Scrum, Kanban
  • 2+ years of experience with Dynamo DB, Postgres
  • 1+ year of experience of writing SQL queries using Snowflake to extract operational data and performing analysis for improvement insights
