Principal Associate, Project Management| Retail Bank
Capital One, one of Fortune Magazine's "100 best companies to work for" is seeking a strategic and data-driven Principal Associate to fill a position in the Retail Bank Integrated Planning team. This role will support our Program Management sub-team and you will be coordinating the development and execution of a portfolio of Marketing campaigns, by creating project plans, managing dynamic timelines and facilitating the on-time delivery across broad cross-functional teams.
General Responsibilities
- Leads the execution of multiple/ simultaneous Marketing campaigns/ projects, leveraging Project Management tools and best practices
- Develops program/project structure, milestones/ timelines, and establishes task dependencies
- Analyzes resource constraints and develops potential tradeoff scenarios to manage team capacity
- Escalates project plan risks and deviations and seeks/ implements mitigation strategies
- Oversees multiple projects simultaneously
- Operating effectively in an agile environment and effectively manage changing priorities, timelines and resources
- Designing, developing, and managing project plans in a complex dynamic environment, revising needs to meet changing requirements using project management software
- Ensuring projects are being documented appropriately to mitigate risk and to be delivered "on time"
- Leveraging problem solving and influencing skills to ensure project plans deliver on intent
- Partnering cross-functionally with project customers to provide strategic and tactical thought partnership to effectively drive project delivery.
- Works with a broad set of customers across products, channels, operations etc. with fungibility across types of work
- Driving consensus across cross-functional teams through creation of appropriate routines, templates and socialization plans
- Building relationships and collaborating with key stakeholders to ensure delivery of commitments and moving agenda forward to a clearly defined program or space.
- Keep pulse on the financial industry & marketing innovations to ensure we stay relevant and at the forefront of marketing operations and process management. Able to proactively spot major marketing opportunities particularly in established markets.
- Contribute to quarterly and annual marketing planning by providing inputs on team scope and capacity.

This Associate Should Bring:
- Highly collaborative and ability to drive direction and manage progress with multiple stakeholders including Leadership, Marketing Strategy, Digital Marketing, Media, Product, Creative, National Advertising, Retail Marketing, and Corporate Communications.
- A proven Subject Matter Expert in their domain with experience in various aspects of Marketing Operations.
- A passion for coordinating complex Marketing campaigns, projects and programs by establishing tasks, milestones, timelines, dependencies, delivery tradeoffs and capacity needs across a cross-functional team
- Confidence presenting project plans, scenario analyses, trade-offs, risks and their mitigation steps to stakeholders
- Is able to apply new research methods while problem solving.
- Excited by the challenge of influencing & collaborating with various stakeholders and cross-functional teams
- Is passionate about troubleshooting project roadblocks and delivering quality outcomes on time and budget
- Naturally curious about our product marketing strategies, impact to customer experience and
- Strong multi-tasking, organizational skills and ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment
- Demonstrated willingness to be flexible and adaptable to changing priorities
- Strong verbal and written communication skills

Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or military experience
- At least 4 years of Project Management experience in Marketing campaign planning, execution or MarTech domain
- At least 4 years of experience working with cross-functional teams in a matrixed environment
Preferred Qualifications
- Masters / MBA degree
- PMP, Lean, Agile or Six Sigma certification
- Experience in Financial Services or Fintech industry

The minimum and maximum full-time annual salaries for this role are listed below, by location. Please note that this salary information is solely for candidates hired to perform work within one of these locations, and refers to the amount Capital One is willing to pay at the time of this posting. Salaries for part-time roles will be prorated based upon the agreed upon number of hours to be regularly worked.
McLean, VA: $117,300 - $133,900 for Principal Project Manager
Richmond, VA: $106,700 - $121,700 for Principal Project Manager
Wilmington, DE: $106,700 - $121,700 for Principal Project Manager
Candidates hired to work in other locations will be subject to the pay range associated with that location, and the actual annualized salary amount offered to any candidate at the time of hire will be reflected solely in the candidate's offer letter.
This role is also eligible to earn performance based incentive compensation, which may include cash bonus(es) and/or long term incentives (LTI). Incentives could be discretionary or non discretionary depending on the plan.
