We're looking for an experienced marketing strategist to lead the development of new customer strategies within Capital One's rapidly growing Card Partnerships business. This Principal Associate role is part of the horizontal Customer Lifecycle Marketing team, which designs programs for our entire Partnerships portfolio-some of the most admired brands in the world such as REI, Williams Sonoma & BJ's.

This role will be responsible for launching new programs to improve customer lifetime value across the whole portfolio, including reinventing existing Rewards Marketing campaigns as well as building net-new strategies to drive spend and engagement with existing customers.

The successful candidate is customer-centric and data driven with an understanding of how to leverage journey & behavior-based marketing to influence customer behavior. He/she should thrive in a fast-paced, cross-functional, and collaborative environment.

How our hybrid model works:
This role is hybrid meaning associates typically spend about half their time (2-3 days per week) in-person at one of our offices listed on this job posting. Monday and Fridays are enterprise- wide virtual work days. Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday are in-person days for associates to spend time together working in our beautifully-designed team areas.

Responsibilities:
Develop new use cases on Salesforce Marketing Cloud designed to increase spend among existing customers. This includes identifying new use case opportunities based on business or customer needs and designing marketing journeys to address them.
Lead the cross-functional 'pod' responsible for delivering new use cases, including Creative, Segmentation, and Journey Builders, and manage end to end delivery of each use case.
Partner with Product to ensure capabilities are being developed to meet team/customer needs, and that pod is maximizing usage of new capabilities.
Identify potential impediments to problem solve autonomously with 'pod' teammates or escalate to leaders for help as necessary.
Represent 'pod' work & needs to business team and translating business cases into marketing activities.
Merchandize and socialize marketing & business results with broader stakeholder groups across the Partnerships, Card, and Enterprise.
Leverage customer insights & performance results to identify opportunities to optimize marketing programs via creative testing or adopting new capabilities.
Collaborate with multiple cross-functional teams including creative agencies, analytics, research, operations, legal and client/partner.

The Ideal Candidate:
Demonstrates strong curiosity, ability to learn quickly, and think creatively to uncover and apply actionable consumer insights.
Has an interest, and ideally experience, in marketing technology like Salesforce Marketing Cloud to make marketing more personalized and relevant.
Has a passion for leveraging data, metrics and insights to drive results and learnings.
Can manage the details of multiple projects, deadlines and changing priorities, while maintaining excellent and accurate work.
Thrives on collaboration, the opportunity to build in white space, and the drive for results.
Is a highly effective communicator who can influence internal decision makers with formal recommendations and informal networking.
Adept at briefing and collaborating with creative teams, external agencies and internal resources, on the development of marketing assets.
Maintains an understanding of external environmental trends, industry trends, competitor trends to spark fresh ideas and ensure team capabilities can meet the evolving marketplace.

Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree or Military experience
At least 5 years of experience in marketing or project management
At least 2 years experience in planning, executing and analyzing marketing programs
At least 2 years of experience managing creative processes, partnering with creative teams and developing creative optimization frameworks

Preferred Qualifications:
2+ years of experience in the financial services industry
2+ years of experience in the retail industry
1+ years of experience with Salesforce Marketing Cloud
