As a Strategic Project Manager at Capital One you will execute on high priority projects for the company in the Retail Bank. In this exciting role you will work closely with business leaders to execute annual and quarterly business strategies and then track progress against those plans. You will also support the process to prioritize new requests for product capacity as generated by a large stakeholder group of Director+. To be successful in this role you will need to be well-rounded - a creative, analytical and technically proficient problem solver who understands the business landscape. You will have the opportunity to work with senior leaders through planning processes both annually and quarterly and to operationalize priorities through joint capacity planning with tech partners.

General Responsibilities:

  • Execute planning and capacity processes for senior leaders that are efficient, thorough, and comprehensive across organizations within the line of business
  • Support the execution of product and tech capacity planning exercises for Retail Bank Product in close collaboration with tech and business partners
  • Demonstrate strong communication skills; this role requires the ability to convey plans, points of view and tradeoffs both in writing and orally
  • Manage a large group of stakeholders that includes senior leaders, chiefs of staff, communications teams, and partners in finance, HR, risk, compliance and legal
  • Accountable for tracking of organizational KPIs/OKRs, and ensuring progress against our plan is tracked accurately and efficiently, applying strong judgment around escalation of issue requiring attention
  • Leveraging problem solving and influencing skills to ensure program and project plans deliver on intent
  • Own reporting and escalations structure including inputs to MBRs, risk forums, portfolio reviews, and newsletters
  • Leading moderate to large complex projects and programs by providing strategic direction to projects, peers, and key partners
  • Successful track record of thriving in a fast-paced, dynamic environment; previous consulting experience is a plus

Basic Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma, GED or equivalent certification
  • At least 5 Years of Project Management, Product Management or Program Management experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or military experience
  • PMP or Agile certification
  • 8+ years of Project or Program Management experience

The minimum and maximum full-time annual salaries for this role are listed below, by location. Please note that this salary information is solely for candidates hired to perform work within one of these locations, and refers to the amount Capital One is willing to pay at the time of this posting. Salaries for part-time roles will be prorated based upon the agreed upon number of hours to be regularly worked.

McLean, VA: $146,100 - $166,700 for Manager, Project Management

Richmond, VA: $132,800 - $151,600 for Manager, Project Management

Wilmington, DE: $132,800 - $151,600 for Manager, Project Management

Candidates hired to work in other locations will be subject to the pay range associated with that location, and the actual annualized salary amount offered to any candidate at the time of hire will be reflected solely in the candidate's offer letter.

This role is also eligible to earn performance based incentive compensation, which may include cash bonus(es) and/or long term incentives (LTI). Incentives could be discretionary or non discretionary depending on the plan.
