The Cloud Operations Resilience Engineering (CORE) Technology division is responsible for enabling and evolving Capital One's foundational cloud infrastructure layer, including observability, connectivity, resilience and availability.

CORE's Organizational Strategy & Insights (COSI) team enables our division and our Tech teams to thrive by creating and delivering seamless labor management and operational processes, delightful associate experiences, thoughtful development programs, and custom insights and analytics. The COSI team is led by CORE's chief of staff and partners closely with our executive leaders, in service of our broader team.

As a Manager Project Manager, you will lead critical and strategic projects to deliver results that will have direct impact on our team culture and efficacy. Examples of areas of focus may include: skills assessments and development initiatives, programs to empower and train our people leaders, engagement efforts such as in person and hybrid team events, culture-building efforts around inclusion, recognition, and enablement. General Responsibilities:

  • Communicate timely updates on projects, systems, and events ensuring they stay on track, on deadline, and on budget, adjusting if/when necessary.
  • Work on large and small scale projects that have a direct impact on the company.
  • Drive projects based on defined priorities; ensure scope of deliverables, timelines and budget are met; identify risks and issues and mitigate and / or escalate as needed
  • Plan, design, manage and execute project plans to ensure delivery. This activity includes management through feasibility, design, planning and implementation.
  • Leverage problem solving skills to ensure project plans deliver on intent and maintain key project documentation
  • Partner with project customers to provide strategic and tactical thought partnership to effectively drive project delivery
  • Forge relationships with key stakeholders to ensure delivery of commitments
  • Identify ways to improve and streamline business process
  • Exhibit a proven track record of project management, bringing the ability to quickly put structure in place to manage the work
  • Demonstrate outstanding communication and partnership skills which are essential for interacting and communicating with key stakeholders across all levels to manage, inform, and influence outcomes
  • Demonstrate organizational agility to adapt to changing demands
  • Display strong consulting and collaboration skills
  • Have a track record of successful program management, bringing the ability to quickly put structure in place to manage tasks and related expectations.
  • Demonstrate the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Have excellent communication and partnership skills for interacting and communicating with key stakeholders to manage, inform and influence outcomes

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree or Military experience
  • At least 6 Years of Project Management experience
  • At least 2 years of Jira experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Masters / MBA degree
  • 7+ years of Project Management experience
  • 2+ years of People Management experience
  • PMP, Lean, Agile or Six Sigma certification
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills
  • Strong problem solving and influencing skills
  • Work experience achieving results with complex projects
