As a Data & ML Product Manager on the Business Cards & Payment team, you will take ownership for our existing ML product and its data pipelines. You will work closely with business analysts, engineers, data scientists, product managers, and other cross functional teams to create integrated roadmaps, prioritize development, manage releases, define metrics and key results that will ladder up to customer and business value.
Primary Responsibilities
- The Data & ML Product Manager is responsible for the core ML prediction product and its associated data within our product ecosystem.
- Define the vision for the ML prediction product and its data pipelines that solves customer problems and brings business value.
- Develop a 12 month+ roadmap (updated quarterly) for the core ML product and socialize with stakeholders for buy-in.
- Lead team(s) of data scientists, software and data engineers to develop and implement ML model improvements, partnering with Enterprise teams where possible. Ensure that the technical architecture supports the evolving needs of current and future use cases.
- Implement best practices in data and ML model pipelines to improve data quality and model accuracy. Ensure compliance with Enterprise data requirements and data patterns.
- Design and implement A/B tests and experiments related to data quality, model performance, and system reliability. Analyze results and identify areas for improvement. Communicate the results of back-end tests and experiments to stakeholders. Partner with analysts, data scientists, designers, engineers, and others to continuously harvest insights from experiments and refine the roadmap.
- Define product requirements, rationalize & recommend sequencing, goal setting, story writing, product execution, testing, and product roll-out strategy.
- Define and track key performance indicators (KPIs) related to ML model performance, data quality, and system performance.
- Champion the implementation of robust monitoring and alerting systems to detect and address data quality issues, ML feature or model drift and performance degradation. Partner with other internal teams on data quality standards and enhancements.
- Identify and address technical challenges and roadblocks.

Basic Qualifications:
- At least 3 years of experience working in Product Management
- Currently has, or is in the process of obtaining one of the following with an expectation that the required degree will be obtained on or before the scheduled start date:
- A Bachelor's Degree in a quantitative field (Statistics, Economics, Operations Research, Analytics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Information Systems or a related quantitative field)
- A Master's Degree in a quantitative field (Statistics, Economics, Operations Research, Analytics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Information Systems or a related quantitative field) or an MBA with a quantitative concentration
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience translating business strategy and analysis into consumer facing digital products

The minimum and maximum full-time annual salaries for this role are listed below, by location. Please note that this salary information is solely for candidates hired to perform work within one of these locations, and refers to the amount Capital One is willing to pay at the time of this posting. Salaries for part-time roles will be prorated based upon the agreed upon number of hours to be regularly worked.
McLean, VA: $158,400 - $180,800 for Manager, Product Management
Candidates hired to work in other locations will be subject to the pay range associated with that location, and the actual annualized salary amount offered to any candidate at the time of hire will be reflected solely in the candidate's offer letter.
This role is also eligible to earn performance based incentive compensation, which may include cash bonus(es) and/or long term incentives (LTI). Incentives could be discretionary or non discretionary depending on the plan.
