About the team:

Enterprise Data drives Capital One's data strategy and creates products that support data producers and consumers across all corners of the company. Our Data Product Governance & Strategy team supports the Chief Data Officer's mission to build a world-class data organization. Our dedicated team works with a group of highly engaged leaders to define and deliver data governance solutions, collaborating with partners across the company to prioritize and deliver data products providing the highest quality data.

About the role:

We are seeking a consultative and results-driven Process Manager to lead the execution of a centralized program focused on data governance and operations support for data executives and data product managers.

As a team member on the Data Product Governance & Strategy team, you will be partnering with product owners, ontologists, and data analysts to ensure the company's data meets the highest levels of quality and governance.

You will leverage process management and analytical skills to document, develop, and maintain roadmaps and metrics. This is a hands-on, strategic, and visible role that will allow an individual to partner with multiple teams and various levels of the organization in successfully managing our expansive data footprint.

In this role you will:

  • Consult with stakeholders in Enterprise Data and Capital One Line of Business data organizations to develop and enhance processes that drive a data governance initiative that enables stakeholders to deliver the highest quality data efficiently
  • Influence stakeholders across the company to align business and data priorities and solutions to the Chief Data Officer's strategy for building a world-class data organization
  • Collaborate with and enable Data Product Managers to deliver on high-quality, well-managed data that meets standards and best practices set
  • Design, develop, and manage delivery roadmaps in a complex environment, revising needs to meet changing requirements
  • Leverage problem solving and influencing skills to ensure roadmaps deliver on intent
  • Facilitate and create presentations for meetings as needed with senior leaders, implementation partners, and key stakeholders to gather input, drive consensus, and maintain engagement throughout the program lifecycle
  • Define and track key performance indicators to measure the success of initiatives
  • Develop and maintain regular reporting mechanisms and communication frameworks
  • Refine initiatives in response to feedback, changing organizational needs, and new data tools, products, and policies

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree or military experience
  • At least 5 years of experience in Process management, program management, or consulting experience
  • At least 3 years of experience in Stakeholder management
  • Experience working in a Strategy and Operations or consulting role that involves change management and communications.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's Degree in Business Management, Process Management, Project Management, Computer Science or Information Systems
  • 2+ years of experience working with data modeling teams
  • 2+ years in communicating and collaborating with and influencing cross-functional teams and partners
  • 2+ years of experience communicating with executives, including meetings, presentations, memos, and reports
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Excellent executive and stakeholder management skills

The minimum and maximum full-time annual salaries for this role are listed below, by location. Please note that this salary information is solely for candidates hired to perform work within one of these locations, and refers to the amount Capital One is willing to pay at the time of this posting. Salaries for part-time roles will be prorated based upon the agreed upon number of hours to be regularly worked.

Cambridge, MA: $126,700 - $144,600 for Manager, Process Management

McLean, VA: $126,700 - $144,600 for Manager, Process Management

New York, NY: $138,300 - $157,800 for Manager, Process Management

Candidates hired to work in other locations will be subject to the pay range associated with that location, and the actual annualized salary amount offered to any candidate at the time of hire will be reflected solely in the candidate's offer letter.

This role is also eligible to earn performance based incentive compensation, which may include cash bonus(es) and/or long term incentives (LTI). Incentives could be discretionary or non discretionary depending on the plan.
