As a Training & Development Senior Manager you will oversee and manage the training and development initiatives, strategy, and projects for the American Funds Service Group. You will partner with business units to create, prioritize, and align training projects with business plans and strategy. You will also lead and sponsor cross-company and cross-site projects with broad business impact and conduct qualitative and quantitative analysis of project success measures.

Responsibilities

  • You are a skilled relationship builder, with experience partnering with business units to create training and development strategy that further their business goals.
  • You will act as the cross site functional/technical point of contact for strategy formulation and implementation, ensuring training and development industry best practices are used as appropriate.
  • You have overseen complex projects with broad impacts across multiple business units, ensuring outcomes that align with business plans.
  • You will contribute to business planning discussions regarding strategies and deliverables on department business plan.
  • You have managed large teams of associates and thrive on fostering an inclusive work environment and creating development opportunities to progress your associate's careers.
  • You will serve as a project lead for company projects and initiatives with cross-company, cross-site impact, and will be accountable for meeting the business objectives and deadlines.
  • You know how to evaluate skills of training staff and ensure availability of resources.
  • You will prepare business cases, including cost benefit analysis, for projects and/or initiatives (e.g., purchase of technology, external products and services), including KPIs to evaluate the success of the initiative.
  • You oversee, and may facilitate, professional and management skill development classes.

  • Bachelor's degree in education, learning, business administration, or related field.
  • At least 5 years of experience in training and development in a managerial role.
  • Strong knowledge of training and development principles, methods, and best practices.
  • Excellent project management, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to lead and influence cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
  • Ability to analyze data and evaluate outcomes.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and learning management systems.
  • Certification in instructional design, coaching, or facilitation is a plus.

Southern California Base Salary Range: $152,861-$259,864

Hampton Roads Base Salary Range: $136,337-$231,773

Indianapolis Base Salary Range: $140,079-$238,134

In addition to a highly competitive base salary, per plan guidelines, restrictions and vesting requirements, you also will be eligible for an individual annual performance bonus, plus Capital's annual profitability bonus plus a retirement plan where Capital contributes 15% of your eligible earnings.
