As a Senior Strategist Pension solutions your primary focus will be on public plan sponsor engagement to help solve clients/prospects unique investment challenges, develop and execute thought leadership, and partner with the public plan business development team sourcing and executing commercial opportunities.

Additionally, you will partner with Asset Allocation Strategists on the development of an analytical framework for asset allocation for institutional clients with a priority on public pensions.

Day to Day You Will:

  • Partner with Head of Pension Solutions to develop and promote investment strategies and solutions focusing on Public Pensions.
  • Develop an asset allocation framework for Public Pension plans, leveraging appropriate technological solutions and tools.
  • Contribute to the formulation of institutional asset allocation and investment beliefs.
  • Create custom asset allocation solution deliverables to engage and support current and prospective Public Pension clients.
  • Analyze prospective client's portfolios and recommend strategies, helping clients make appropriate and timely investment decisions.
  • Demonstrate how current market environment and outlook might impact institutional clients through reports and how asset allocation and investment strategy might be adjusted for improved outcomes.
  • Work closely with industry consultants, OCIO providers and other related third-parties.
  • Author white papers about key investment themes and practical application for institutional investors, with a focus on Public Pensions
  • Build and maintain Capital Groups public image as an active participant at institutional DB conferences.
  • Provide oversight and guidance to a team of Analysts responsible for financial modelling, analytic and data analysis.

I am the person Capital Group is looking for:

  • 15-20 years' experience in Asset Allocation, Multi-Asset and/or Fixed Income, with experience engaging Public Pension Plan Sponsors
  • Significant experience delivering asset allocation and ad-hoc analysis and recommendations to institutional clients.
  • Deep understanding of all asset classes, including equities, fixed income, and alternatives.
  • Experience understanding and utilizing proprietary Capital Market Assumptions (CMA's)
  • Advanced analytical and financial modelling experience
  • Use initiative, be pro-active and with problem solving abilities.
  • Success managing and prioritizing multiple client engagements and deliverables.
  • Excellent communication skills, written and verbal.
  • A proven team Player with ability to partner with Head of LDI Solutions and other senior business leaders.
  • Ability and desire to travel up to 50%
  • Advanced degree or CFA designation
  • Direct institutional sales experience a plus

Salary range $125,000 to $200,000

In addition to a highly competitive base salary, per plan guidelines, restrictions and vesting requirements, you also will be eligible for an individual annual performance bonus, plus Capital's annual profitability bonus plus a retirement plan where Capital contributes 15% of your eligible earnings.
