As a Platform Engineer Lead on our team, you will serve as a technical and operational expert and knowledge specialist in operational intelligence. You'll work across a specialized set of platform capabilities to architect, build and maintain platform components, services, and APIs to enable seamless integration and interoperability across the platform for ITG.
In this role you will be part of the product team responsible for enterprise data services and will set the strategic direction for Observability and Operational Intelligence. You will lead developers in engineering capabilities within the Observability, Logging and Analytics, Data Engineering & Routing and Platform Workload Automation space all while enabling internal customers to successfully leverage Capital Group's cloud ecosystem. Your customers will rely on you to design and develop innovative systems in the Operational Intelligence space and evolve those systems as new technology emerges. You will be part of a product aligned portfolio, leveraging Agile frameworks to deliver on designs and development of platform capabilities. In this role you will be expected to contribute meaningfully to the code of all enterprise data services products.

Key Responsibilities:
- You will drive the enhancement of code for key Enterprise Data Services products.
- You will design and implement scalable and robust platform solutions.
- You will develop and maintain enterprise grade Observability solutions as part of cloud platform capabilities.
- You will collaborate with software and platform engineers, product managers, and other stakeholders to define requirements and deliver high-quality features.
- You will optimize system performance and ensure high availability and reliability.
- You will optimize monitoring of Cloud platforms in the enterprise data space and troubleshoot platform issues, providing timely resolutions.
- You will pursue self-service, automation capabilities and solutions to reduce development cycle-time.
- You will partner alongside architecture, security, risk and compliance teams to understand and ensure systems and solutions protect the Enterprise.
- You will stay up to date with industry trends and best practices to continuously improve our platform. Assess, consult and recommend industry leading solutions as potentially additive to our offerings.
- You will demonstrate technical leadership skills to drive the team to results.

- You have an expert level of knowledge with Observability platforms like Splunk, Datadog, Grafana/Grafana Cloud.
- You are proficient in Software Development with languages such as Python, Java or Go.
- You have 10+ years of experience building large scale, robust platform solutions with emphasis on coding, problem-solving, and design skills. Experience designing/developing API's and microservices.
- You have 10+ years of experience in Observability and/or Operational Intelligence.
- You have 5+ years of experience in DevOps/DevSecOps practices and CI/CD pipelines.
- You have a strong desire to lead, mentor and contribute to a culture of excellence.
- You are proficient in IaC tools and techniques such as Terraform, Cloud Formation.
- You are well-versed in API Development with a focus on product integrations, automated testing and stable contracts. A strong background in FastAPI is desirable.
- You possess in-depth experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure) and containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes).
- You have a mastery of GitOps and Kubernetes orchestration.
- You have experience applying DevOps practices throughout the SDLC lifecycle using technologies such as Harness or Github.
- You have a solid understanding of networking, security, and infrastructure as code.
- You have experience writing test automation and unit tests, as well as performing integration testing across multiple product integrations.
- You have familiarity with Internal Developer Platforms such as Spotify Backstage.
- You possess the skills to administer and troubleshoot in DevOps/Deployment.
- You have scripting and development skills in Shell, Bash.
- You have proficient technical documentation skills, with emphasis on High-Level and Low-Level Design.
- You have excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- You have strong communication and collaboration skills.
- You have a bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or a related discipline.
Southern California Base Salary Range: $173,211-$277,138
San Antonio Base Salary Range: $142,394-$227,830
New York Base Salary Range: $183,613-$293,781
In addition to a highly competitive base salary, per plan guidelines, restrictions and vesting requirements, you also will be eligible for an individual annual performance bonus, plus Capital's annual profitability bonus plus a retirement plan where Capital contributes 15% of your eligible earnings.
