As one of our Multi-Asset Investment Directors, you'll drive business for our Multi-asset Solutions, focused on Retirement Target Date and Institutional Solutions in particular. You will represent the investment group, engaging with external clients as a proxy for our Solutions portfolio managers and analysts. You'll represent Capital Group at client meetings, new business presentations, speaking events, and sales meetings. You'll partner with our sales teams to deliver investment expertise and market perspectives to clients as well as key insights into our investment process. You'll excel at producing differentiated insights about portfolios.

Capital Group has been growing its Solutions business across multiple business segments. To support this growth, we are seeking a Target Date/Retirement & Institutional Investment Director to join our Asset Class Services team.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Engage with external clients as a proxy for Capital Group's Solutions portfolio managers and investment analysts
  • Represent Capital Group at speaking events, sales meetings, and point of sale presentations, delivering investment expertise and capital markets perspectives
  • Educate clients on Capital Group's investment process, portfolio positioning, results, and attribution
  • Collaborate with cross-functional partners to commercialize and grow our Solutions business, including Home Office / Platform / Consultant strategy, sales force training and support, and conference strategy
  • Consult on the design of new products and partner with Global Product Strategy & Development (GPSD) and/or the Institutional Retirement Product Team to bring new products/services to market successfully
  • Shape our Solutions content strategy, writing and contributing to papers, investment insights, pitch books, etc. and partner with relevant teams across Capital Group to infuse solutions themes and narratives into other relevant media
  • Work alongside the Multi-asset Solutions Asset Class Lead and the broader Multi-Asset ACS team to liaise productively with the Capital Solutions Group (CSG) and effectively articulate our approach and capabilities internally and externally

  • You have a proven track record of Institutional investment-related experience as a buy-side Portfolio Manager, Product Manager, Client Portfolio Manager, Portfolio Specialist, Analyst and/or Trader.
  • You have at least 7 years of investment-related experience with a focus on multi-asset or target date products and strong knowledge of the Target Date industry and institutional retirement products and solutions.
  • You have a deep understanding of multi-asset solutions industry practices and trends, with the ability to apply this to business strategy and growth initiatives
  • You have significant experience interacting with Institutional clients and key client bases (e.g. plan sponsors, institutional clients, etc.)
  • You learn quickly and can easily understand investment processes including investment research, portfolio management, risk management, benchmark construction and strategy design.
  • You are effective in leading, influencing, and collaborating with senior business leaders on broad or nuanced topics to effectively achieve business objectives
  • You are a strong collaborator and work effectively as part of a team, sharing knowledge and insights
  • You have strong presentation skills and know how to tailor your message for different audiences
  • You have strong writing skills and experience in creating effective and concise client materials for different audiences
  • You have an undergraduate degree (required) and/or an advanced business degree; CFA a plus
  • FINRA licenses required (SIE, 7, 66)

Base Salary Range: $242,000 - $288,000

In addition to a highly competitive base salary, per plan guidelines, restrictions and vesting requirements, you also will be eligible for an individual annual performance bonus, plus Capital's annual profitability bonus plus a retirement plan where Capital contributes 15% of your eligible earnings.
