The Consultant, Market Research applies deep market research expertise to independently guide research plans for our core markets across Europe and Asia-Pacific Client Group (EACG). They engage with senior stakeholders to understand and support business priorities with pragmatic intermediary and investor insight. As a consultant, they must be able to independently complete research projects of various size and complexity. This includes understanding and recommending the appropriate research techniques, synthesizing results, and presenting research findings and strategic conclusions to both internal and external clients. The role will be a critical component in executing our end-to-end client facing capabilities through our new premium offering, Capital Ideas Pro. Capital Ideas Pro is a gateway the best of Capital's award-winning insights, support, and tools for our clients. The consultant also exhibits Capital Group's core values and demonstrates the ability to coach and mentor associates.

About EACG: EACG consists of departments such as Sales, Marketing, Investment Product and Business Management. This group is crucial to the success of Capital Group's long-term strategy: to be the world's investment manager of choice. Responsibilities
- Support business goals and manage primary market research across Asia-Pacific markets.
- Connect research knowledge to business goals and decisions.
- Partner with internal teams (Sales, Marketing/Brand, Capital Ideas Pro, Capital Learning and Business Data, Analytics and Tools (BDAT)) to understand and address business needs through research.
- Use a range of research methods, including qualitative and quantitative approaches.
- Work with Global Research and Insights to interpret data, generate insights, and communicate findings.
Bring research insights to clients and internal stakeholders.
- Partner with Capital Ideas Pro, Capital Learning, Sales, Marketing, and others to integrate research into training programs.
- Guide co-developed surveys and research projects with strategic clients.
- Present research findings to clients and internal stakeholders.
Manage relationships with external market research vendors and internal clients.
- Independently manage projects, including objectives, timelines, and vendor coordination.
- Oversee vendor selection for ad hoc research, drafting RFPs, evaluating proposals, and recommending vendors to senior management.
- Participate in client and internal meetings as needed.
- Influence senior stakeholders with knowledge and insights.
Maintain a deep understanding of the marketplace and client needs.
- Develop and maintain knowledge of market trends, target customer profiles, and competitor practices.
- Identify and address knowledge gaps proactively.
Build the culture
- Promote Capital Group's philosophy and core beliefs within business groups.
- Facilitate collaborative meetings with external parties like vendors and partners.
- Collaborate with other internal managers on business processes, risks, and overall planning.
Experience
- Expert in qualitative and quantitative research methods.
- In-depth knowledge of research techniques.
- Proven ability to examine business problems through multiple lenses and integrate diverse knowledge sources into conclusions and recommendations.
- Effective written and oral communication skills with a diverse group of associates, senior business leaders and external audiences.
- In-depth understanding in local (Japan & Asia Pac) languages, business practices and regulatory background.
- Situational understanding and ability influence diverse groups and levels of seniority.
- Demonstrates initiative by identifying issues and recommending solutions.
- Ability to effectively plan and manage the work of others.
- Intellectual curiosity and analytical skills in areas of high complexity.
- Ability to lead and manage projects within the team.
- Fluent in Japanese and English
In addition to a highly competitive base salary, per plan guidelines, restrictions and vesting requirements, you also will be eligible for an individual annual performance bonus, plus Capital's annual profitability bonus plus a retirement plan where Capital contributes 15% of your eligible earnings.
