As a Learning & Development Manager you will be responsible for sourcing training solutions/providers to meet identified training needs, primarily for the sales and service associates in Private Client Services. You will be responsible to oversees day-to-day training operations including defining operational processes, vendor management, logistics and systems maintenance. You have the ability to work with business group leadership team to help plan, build and deliver various L&D strategic priorities. You will develop, implement and administer business group training programs and change management initiatives. You have partnered with other L&D teams, where appropriate, to share best practices, leverage common learning platforms, etc.

  • Builds a curriculum strategy by applying deep technical knowledge to identify program offerings and vendors, makes recommendations on optimal mix of delivery methods and evaluates outcomes.
  • Ensures that training offerings are aligned with current business needs and technical objectives.
  • Researches development/skill needs in partnership with the business.
  • Works globally to support and partner with others as appropriate.
  • Manages vendor relationships and procurement of training resources.
    • Researches and evaluates new vendor offerings and establishes preferred vendors for various training options.
    • Strategically leverages vendor relationships for maximizing cost efficiencies.
    • Oversees procurement and contracting processes.
    • Ensures approval process for training is streamlined.
    • Ensures vendors meet service level agreements.


  • Operational management of training operations group.
    • Establishes operational business processes and continuously evaluates department
    • practices and identifies and implements process improvements.
    • Monitors and manages workload of the team. Tracks workload resource management for
    • Training team.
    • Responsible for budget management.
    • Provides customer service/front line support and assists associates and managers with general questions.
    • Manages systems used to support training operations.
    • Oversees course management
    • within the learning management system.
  • Oversees associate training records
    • Oversees training and certification records of associate
    • Provides ad hoc and scheduled reports as it pertains to associate training records.
      Provides analysis based on trends regarding class consumption.
  • Oversees management of training vendor relationships
    • Handles escalated issues with vendors (e.g., contract issues, negotiates terms/conditions, not meeting service level agreements).
    • Monitors effectiveness and quality of vendors by conducting performance trending.
  • Manages projects
    • Plans, prioritizes, delegates and coordinates projects within area. Monitors and confirms status with senior manager, clients and staff
  • Collaborates with senior manager to select, develop and maintain an effective team.

Southern California Base Salary Range: $153,965-$246,344

In addition to a highly competitive base salary, per plan guidelines, restrictions and vesting requirements, you also will be eligible for an individual annual performance bonus, plus Capital's annual profitability bonus plus a retirement plan where Capital contributes 15% of your eligible earnings.
