The Head of Product Strategy and Development for Canada (Internal title: Product Strategy and Development Manager Senior) is accountable for leading the product strategy, development, and management for our Canadian business. Ensures robust understanding of client, market, competitive and regulatory/legislative trends to strategize and drive development of innovative and compelling new products/enhancements. Additionally, provides product support and maintenance of the existing offering, including execution related to the product needs of the business. Lastly, the role helps shape the overall Canadian strategy and leads the management of Canada's day-to-day business as a key member of the Canada leadership team.

- Partner with groups across our business, on developing and executing Canada's product strategy and roadmap,
- Apply deep knowledge and expertise of clients, markets and competitors to assess business challenges and opportunities and develop compelling product recommendations that will drive business outcomes
- Anticipate and prioritize market/client needs and respond to industry developments (regulatory/legislative, secular changes, competitive dynamics)
- Lead and execute product reviews and changes, including benchmark, category, manager, and fee changes, quarterback the regulatory reporting process for prospectus, fund facts, etc.
- Drive alignment for key deliverables with business partners inside and outside of Canada (and strategic vendors/external partners as applicable); raise and resolve conflicts; manage decision making around trade-off
- Maintain awareness and understanding of competing projects/programs, balancing internal capabilities and constraints
Responsible for product shelf in Canada including develop new products, review existing products, and leading any new launches or changes for the business
- Identify and develop integrated product opportunities that will drive growth, in partnership with key internal and external stakeholders
- Creates well defined business cases and other documentation for business initiatives, considering and including the expected business benefits, cost analysis, gap and risk analysis, and alternative options.
- Ensures programs are competitive and relevant and develops future customer strategies and strategic business capabilities.
- Conduct rigorous analysis to develop, propose and implement approved product changes
Manage in-force client segment product offering
- Drive the "care and feeding" of the existing Canada offering and proactively support sales and client servicing efforts by researching and providing critical analysis, insights and reporting on existing product lineup, internal training, and core content
- Develop intake routines for new opportunities/enhancements to ensure quality and consistency of approach as well as alignment with long-term strategic direction
- Respond quickly to business needs/opportunities through critical analysis and deep understanding of internal impacts and connection points
Serve as a senior member of the cross functional Canada leadership team
- Participate in shaping overall business strategy and managing execution plans, as a peer to Sales, Marketing, Business Operations, and Legal/Compliance
- Partner with sales leaders (both field and home office) to engage our clients, partners, and the broader marketplace on potential commercial opportunities (e.g. sub-advisory), and to represent their views and needs within CG
- Act as key product liaison with NACG cross-client group partners (GPSD, ACS) and critical operating group teams (Marketing, Sales, Operations, Legal, US Client Product team, and EACG IPS) to represent Canada business interests and advocate for client needs
- Support the development and execution of Canada business and distribution processes and activities, such as strategic/business planning, GTM planning/execution, and ongoing investment updates
Lead dedicated Product team
- Develop and communicate team mission and vision in support of broader Canada/NACG/CG strategy
- Ensure team culture consistently aligns with CG principles and values
- Set goals and direct work across team to optimize performance against client segment goals
- Teach/coach others how to assess and manage associate performance
- Effectively coach and provide feedback to direct reports to help develop talent and support career development
- Set high performance standards for team
The successful candidate will demonstrate:
- Strong retail and institutional industry knowledge - broad product and distribution expertise specific to retail separately managed accounts, mutual funds, ETFs, SA, and UCIT
- Detailed knowledge of Canadian industry infrastructure, regulatory environment, and emerging technologies
- Strategic ability balanced with execution follow-through
- Ability to effectively plan and manage the work of a broad business area to achieve results consistent with broad business objectives
- Proven track record of bringing quality offerings to the market and achieving top/bottom line business results
- Strong people management
- Ability to collaborate and develop/maintain relationships within Capital and the ability to coordinate and partner internally
- Sound judgment in resolving matters of high complexity.

Los Angeles Base Salary Range: $193,464-$328,889
In addition to a highly competitive base salary, per plan guidelines, restrictions and vesting requirements, you also will be eligible for an individual annual performance bonus, plus Capital's annual profitability bonus plus a retirement plan where Capital contributes 15% of your eligible earnings.
