As a DevOps Engineer on the Development Engineering (i.e., Capital Group's Development Security Operations - DevSecOps) team, you are responsible for the design, development, testing, and delivery of functioning software. You are able to use technology to plan, analyze, implement high level business requirements defining and meeting target completion dates (i.e., complete an Epic). Moreover, as a Development Engineering team member, you will be responsible and accountable for tool stewardship of several products. As a member of a self-managing Scrum team, you will partner with the Product Owner (PO), Scrum Lead (SL), and solution teams that utilize Development Engineering products. The DevOps Engineer works with everyone in the organization to plan and create value for the customer. In this role, you will have the opportunity to mentor less-experienced team members, along with assisting team members to provide operational support for solution teams. The DevOps Engineer applies principles and techniques of computer science, engineering, mathematical analysis, and systems.

  • You have a bachelor's degree in engineering, computer science, or equivalent experience
  • You have .NET/C#, C++, or Java and/or software engineering experience
  • You are proficient in Python (requirement), have PowerShell scripting experience, and/or an equivalent language (e.g., UNIX shell)
  • You have experience developing, enhancing, and maintaining CI/CD pipelines that automate software development lifecycles (SDLCs), reducing friction for software engineers using multiple Development Operations (DevOps) patterns
  • You have used Git-based version control tools (e.g., GitHub, Bitbucket)
  • You have full competence in software engineering techniques (i.e., an engineering/product development mindset)
  • You have experience automating integration, regression, performance, and acceptance tests

Southern California Base Salary Range: $92,423-$147,877

In addition to a highly competitive base salary, per plan guidelines, restrictions and vesting requirements, you also will be eligible for an individual annual performance bonus, plus Capital's annual profitability bonus plus a retirement plan where Capital contributes 15% of your eligible earnings.
