As we've grown the number and type of clients in Europe and Asia, we have built training capability for EACG's client partnerships, Capital Learning. This team caters for the learning requirements of two main client cohorts; financial intermediary banker and advisor networks and institutional clients providing product agnostic tools and resources to support successful client conversations and development.

This role is an exciting step forward for our distribution and marketing function in Europe and Asia Pacific. The business are investing in a new team, led by this hire, who will drive our associate development to meet our strategic business goals. Our North America Client Group have a decade long journey building a learning function integrated in the business with a place at the leadership table. It is our vision to have the same model for our Europe and Asia Pacific business.

Role Description

Manages a function. Leads the development of learning programs to support the successful execution of Capital Group's (CG) and EACG's business strategy. Responsible for the creation and execution of learning curriculums that are aligned with market best practices and that meet business objectives. Works with outside vendors and internal resources to ensure successful execution of all learning and development initiatives. Collaborates with other learning colleagues to capitalize on areas of expertise.

Responsibilities:

  • Identifies business requirements that should be addressed through coursework or internal/external learning events
  • Works with key stakeholders across EACG to ensure agreement on learning and development initiatives
  • Gathers input from colleagues within the Client Group Global L&D team and across CG to improve programs and practices
  • Participates in the development of internal learning opportunities
  • Identifies and assesses external learning opportunities
  • Ensures that all learning programs meet business requirements and are consistent across CGG L&D Team
  • Identifies and helps design resources and tools to guide managers and associates in addressing development needs (e.g., development plans, competency models, action learning projects, etc.)
  • Manages technology training projects related to the Client Group functions
  • Maintains and reviews key success metrics of learning technologies as needed by the business
  • Reviews books and periodicals and analyses external company practices for applicability of best practices to CG
  • Negotiates and guides vendor agreements; manages vendor relationships and facilitates vendor understanding of CG policies and practices
  • Partners with within the EACG client group to ensure successful execution of all learning and development initiatives
  • Proactively identifies impacts and synergies with other groups
  • Develops and implements communication plans
  • Performs other responsibilities as assigned
  • Team leadership

Skills Required

  • Asset management industry experience, distribution experience a plus
  • Learning and development, HR, organizational development experience
  • Helps the department adjust to unexpected or organizational performance and deliver on changing environments and clarity of business objectives.
  • Translates organizational purpose with personal conviction and sets the change strategies into specific and practical optimism; is viewed as a role model.
  • Sponsors broad initiatives by communicating effectively at all levels, understands and leverages business need and positive impacts to relationships to move projects forward.
  • Builds associates and the organization.
  • Successfully engages the most talented and diverse teams and matches associates to assignments to optimize
  • Leverages associate skills and engagement; ensures associate skills and talents are being fully utilized.
  • Builds the business case and champions client group strategies and goals with the global client group initiatives; deploys organization.
  • Develops their function's resources and monitors effectiveness.
  • Drive the strategy with alignment to the business.
  • Maintains expert knowledge of key industry business objectives and long-term goals.
  • Is sought out by other senior leaders as an important influencer in the broader organization.
  • Has the courage to introduce bold ideas and volunteers to lead new projects or initiatives.
  • Adapts leadership when needed.
  • Regularly seeks to understand style to navigate different cultural conditions, challenges their own leadership impact and reputation
  • Appropriately challenges other Sr. Managers.

In addition to a highly competitive base salary, per plan guidelines, restrictions and vesting requirements, you also will be eligible for an individual annual performance bonus, plus Capital's annual profitability bonus plus a retirement plan where Capital contributes 15% of your eligible earnings.
