Roles and responsibilities

We are looking for a seasoned engineer with SRE (Site Reliability Engineering) experience to join the Trade Distribution System (TDS) software development team to advance and enhance reliability practices, with a strong focus on testing, monitoring, and maintaining system performance.

Roles and responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain operational tools for deployment, monitoring, and analysis of infrastructure
  • Work closely with developers to ensure the system is designed and scaled according to SLO's
  • Automate tasks and create tools to improve efficiency and accuracy of testing
  • Define, document, and perform tests required to meet committed non-functional requirements
  • Participate in capacity planning and demand forecasting, software performance analysis, and system tuning
  • Ensure compliance with security policy and best practices

Required Qualifications

  • 7+ years of Engineering experience, or equivalent demonstrated one or combination of following: work experience, military experience, education
  • 5+ years of experience in supporting enterprise level complex applications and platforms
  • 5+ years of experience in building and debugging Java/C#, Python software artifacts
  • 5+ years of experience working with automation and monitoring tools (Ansible, Grafana, Elastic, Splunk)
  • 3+ years of experience supporting enterprise level complex applications and platforms in production
  • Strong knowledge of Linux/Unix/MS operating systems
  • Good understanding of CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices
  • Experience with infrastructure scripting (Shell/Python)
  • Knowledge of network protocols, IP networks, DNS, routing, and firewalls
  • Experience with OAuth, Certificate Management, TCL/SSL and Kerberos
  • Experience with SQL and NoSQL databases (Oracle, PostgreSQL, MongoDB , storage systems: SAN, NAS)
  • Strong problem-solving skills, critical thinking
