Job Description

The Product Owner supervises the entire lifecycle of a digital product, from inception to launch. The role requires a range of skills from market and customer research, designing the product architecture, UI development, to supply chain planning. Responsible for the overall vision of the product and leading the rollout of this vision into a successful launch. They act as a mediator between the consumers and the technical teams, communicating consumer needs and translating those needs into new product features for the team to design.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in leading mobile or frontend-related projects or products, understanding the nuances of mobile app development or frontend user experiences.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Drive product strategies and long-term vision specifically for mobile or frontend digital products
  • Conduct user research and usability studies, collaborating with designers, developers, and research teams from end to end of the process. Experience in mobile app user experience and frontend performance optimization is highly preferred.
  • Ability to craft a product vision (short to long term) and convert that into a concrete strategy, with specific focus on mobile and frontend technologies.
  • Participate in market research, validation, and whitespace analysis to identify new opportunities for new and existing features and functionalities.
  • Partner with business owners and agile product teams to build product roadmaps for mobile and frontend solutions that will be incorporated into the broader company product portfolio plan.
  • Lead the development of mobile apps or frontend experiences, responsible for the complete product lifecycle from conceptualization to implementation.
  • Work on handling, storing, processing, and analyzing large data sets to identify business opportunities/efficiencies.
  • Evaluate, analyze, and understand the voice of the customer through a variety of data sources, with a focus on improving mobile or frontend user experiences.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Handle the product roadmap and backlog for mobile apps, frontend systems, and other digital products.
  • Oversee and lead requirements discovery, solution design, user story writing, feature development, and user acceptance testing for mobile and frontend-focused projects.
  • Partner with the executive teams to identify key capabilities needed as well as identifying potential issues, specifically around mobile and frontend development.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams regularly to ensure alignment on feature development and prioritization.
  • Run the roadmap and backlog to ensure that IT delivers all capabilities on time and per expectation.
  • Work with product marketing to develop positioning and messaging to ensure differentiation from competitors, with a strong focus on mobile and frontend product advantages.
  • Supervise and evaluate product performance to ensure constant product iteration and improvements, particularly in the mobile and frontend areas.

Key Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience in Agile as a Business SME or Product Owner and with Agile tools and technologies (e.g., JIRA, Confluence).
  • BS degree or equivalent experience is required.
  • Validated experience leading mobile app or frontend development projects, with a clear understanding of the challenges and strategies involved in mobile app development or frontend frameworks.
  • Experience working with decision makers, guiding expectations, and balancing opposing priorities.
  • Experience in omnichannel product development - mobile app and frontend product development experience is required. Ability to frame solutions with a forward-looking strategic roadmap.
  • Strong knowledge of mobile development technologies (iOS, Android) or frontend frameworks (React, Angular, Vue.js).
  • Shown experience in product development, user experience design, customer journeys, and product lifecycle management.
  • Data-driven and experience with defining and tracking metrics for decision making, with a focus on mobile and frontend performance metrics.
  • Experience in B2C or B2B mobile app development or frontend web applications (highly desirable).
  • Experience with B2C and B2B Digital Commerce and Marketing Technology platforms (highly desirable).
  • Experience writing SQL queries, and a working understanding of frontend and mobile programming languages such as Java, HTML, CSS, Angular JS.

Licenses and Certifications:

  • Scrum Product Owner certification (CSPO) / Agile or SAFe Product Owner certificate - POPM
