Job description:
The MES Plant Services IT Support Specialist plays a critical role in supporting and maintaining Manufacturing Execution Systems within pharmaceutical manufacturing environments. This position ensures the seamless operation of MES applications, assists in troubleshooting technical issues, and collaborates with cross-functional teams to enhance system performance and user satisfaction.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Technical Support:
• Provide first-level and second-level technical support for MES applications, addressing user inquiries and issues promptly.

• Troubleshoot and resolve MES-related software and hardware issues, coordinating with vendors when necessary.
System Monitoring and Maintenance:
• Monitor system performance and availability, ensuring that MES applications operate efficiently.
• Perform regular maintenance tasks, including system updates, backups, and patch management, in accordance with established protocols.
User Access Management:
• Manage user accounts and permissions, ensuring proper access levels are granted based on roles and responsibilities.
• Conduct periodic reviews of user access and maintain security compliance in accordance with company policies.
Training and Documentation:
• Assist in the development and delivery of training programs for end-users on MES functionalities and troubleshooting techniques.
• Create and maintain comprehensive documentation, including user manuals, technical specifications, and troubleshooting guides.
Collaboration with IT and Operations:
• Work closely with IT infrastructure teams to ensure proper integration of MES with other enterprise systems (e.g., ERP, LIMS).
• Collaborate with manufacturing and quality assurance teams to gather requirements and feedback for system improvements.
Data Integrity and Reporting:
• Ensure data accuracy and integrity within the MES, implementing data validation and governance practices.
• Generate and analyze reports related to system performance, production metrics, and issue resolution trends.
Project Participation:
• Support MES-related projects, including upgrades and system enhancements, ensuring alignment with operational needs and timelines.
• Participate in testing and validation processes to ensure new features and updates meet quality standards.
Regulatory Compliance:
• Assist in ensuring that MES operations comply with industry regulations and internal quality standards.
• Support audit activities by providing necessary documentation and responding to inquiries related to MES operations.
Required Skills:
• Proficiency in troubleshooting software and hardware issues; experience with database management (e.g., SQL).
• Knowledge of networking principles and system administration.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to convey technical concepts to non-technical users.
• Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment.

The base salary range for the tagged location is $114,000 - $165,000.This role may be eligible for other compensation including variable compensation, bonus, or commission. Full time regular employees are eligible for paid time off, medical/dental/vision insurance, 401(k), and any other benefits to eligible employees.
