Job Description:

Capgemini Engineering is seeking an experienced Business Development Executive with a focus on Smart-Metering/Smart-Grid. This role involves researching and pursuing new business opportunities, fostering client relationships, and promoting our engineering services to major smart-metering OEMs in the US. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of the utilities industry and possess excellent relationship leadership skills.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Client Relationship Management: Develop and uphold strong, long-term relationships with customers at Smart-Metering/ Smart-Grid. Serve as the main point of contact, ensuring a deep understanding of their business objectives and challenges.
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities within the field of Experienced Metering/ Smart- Grid. Develop strategic plans to expand Capgemini Engineering's presence and drive business growth by being hard-working, inquisitive, sensible, and thoughtful.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to design and deliver innovative engineering solutions that meet the specific needs of Metering/ Grid. Ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget with experienced work behaviors.
  • Develop and implement account strategies to achieve business targets. Monitor market trends and provide insights to clients on emerging technologies and standard methodologies.
  • Ensure a high level of client satisfaction by delivering quality services and solutions. Address and resolve any issues or concern promptly.
  • Collaborate closely with Capgemini Engineering's global teams, including sales, delivery, and technical guides, to demonstrate the full capabilities of the organization in serving Smart-Metering/ Smart-Grid.
  • Communicating, promoting, and selling solutions/services using well-crafted arguments to both existing and prospective customers.
  • Engaging with customers at VP and C-Suite levels, particularly those responsible for professional services and engineering.
  • Generating leads, qualifying opportunities, negotiating terms, and closing deals to drive profitable growth.
  • Structuring and shaping deals for value, demonstrating, and providing input on offerings, services, and capabilities.
  • Being responsible for revenue, order bookings, and P&L for the client business, aiming to grow the business.
  • Develop repeat business by understanding clients' needs, upselling, and cross-selling. Provide strategic recommendations to enhance the client value proposition and create successful pitches.
  • Supervising client engagement levels closely, conducting periodic business reviews, and implementing measures to gain traction with the client.
  • Achieving agreed-upon sales targets and outcomes within the scheduled timeframe.

Required Skills:

  • Bachelor's or master's degree in engineering, Business, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in a client-facing role within the engineering or consulting industry.
  • Proven track record of managing and growing large accounts, preferably with clients such as Smart Metering/ Smart Grid.
  • Deep understanding of the engineering services landscape, with experience in sectors like energy, utilities, and industrial automation.
  • Strong business acumen and strategic thinking.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple priorities.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to deliver innovative solutions.
  • Proficiency in project management methodologies.
  • Willingness to travel as required to meet with clients and internal teams.

Nice to Have Skills:

  • Demonstrated expertise in selling creative complex business models and engineering and design services to customers in the Experienced Metering/ Experienced Grid industry. Extensive experience in solution selling - Digital Engineering, Manufacturing and Design, Software engineering, advanced metering, ADMS technologies.
  • Won and led deals of $10million + independently in Engineering services and solution sales.
  • Proven track record to build deep, consultative, trust-based client relationships strong knowledge, understanding client's business with references of 7+ years.
  • Ability to lead one large or multiple small programs and develop sales plan for the assigned customer portfolio and individual Account Plans.
  • Identification, mobilization, and management of internal and external partners for achieving revenues.
  • Passionate about value selling and high-value models of selling with understanding and implementation of company strategy on financials, offerings, segments, target accounts.
