What You'll Do
Develop and implement project plans, including scope, schedule, and resources, to achieve modernization goals
Provide strategic guidance and leadership to project teams, ensuring alignment with client objectives and industry best practices
Facilitate stakeholder engagement and communication, promoting collaboration and transparency
Act as the primary liaison between the Department of Labor client and project teams
Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, ensuring their needs and expectations are met
Conduct regular status meetings and reports to keep the client informed of project progress and issues
Oversee project execution from initiation to closure, ensuring quality and compliance with client standards
Identify and manage risks, implementing mitigation strategies to minimize impact on project delivery
Ensure project deliverables meet client specifications and are delivered on time and within budget
Manage project resources, including personnel, technology, and materials, to optimize project efficiency
Coordinate with cross-functional teams to ensure resource allocation supports project goals
Performance Monitoring and Reporting
Establish KPIs and performance metrics to monitor project progress and success
Prepare comprehensive project reports and presentations for executive leadership and client stakeholders
What You'll Need
Required:
Bachelor's degree in Business, Information Technology, or related field
At least 7 years of experience in project management, with a focus on IT modernization projects in government settings
Proven track record of delivering large-scale projects successfully
Strong knowledge of project management methodologies (e.g., Agile, Waterfall) and tools
Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills
Ability to lead cross-functional teams and manage complex stakeholder relationships
Strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities
Strong organizational and time management skills
Ability to adapt to changing priorities and demands
Proficiency in project management software and Microsoft Office Suite
Knowledge of government regulations and compliance standards related to labor departments
Preferred:
Master's degree preferred
PMP certification or equivalent is highly desirable
Physical Demands
Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA and other federal, state, and local standards
Sedentary work that involves sitting or remaining stationary most of the time with occasional need to move around the office to attend meetings, etc.
Ability to conduct repetitive tasks on a computer, utilizing a mouse, keyboard, and monitor
