Job Title: Product Validation Engineer II

Location: Cork

Reports to: Director - License Compliance

Job Overview:

We are seeking a Product Validation Engineer II, to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring the quality and performance of our software products through the development of validation tools and by executing end-to-end validation processes. You will lead our kit integration activities and validation efforts into distributed or globally dispersed product teams, ensuring consistent quality across multiple locations and time zones.

Key responsibilities include developing validation strategies and automated validation frameworks, identifying and documenting defects, and collaborating closely with software development and product teams to drive improvements.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in software development and testing methodologies, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment. A passion for quality assurance and a commitment to delivering high-quality software solutions are essential.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Mastery of features and characteristics of the phone home technology to produce validation/test plan in relationships with the product teams across the Cadence portfolio.
  • Execute tests, analyze and document results. Perform quality assurance, risk assessment and collaboration with different Cadence product teams. Ensure the compliance of a product in-line with department specifications.
  • Examine, learn, and augment new technologies as needed to help innovate Cadence approach to protecting our technology.
  • Develop and maintain C/C++ applications using data structures and algorithms that interact with REST APIs.
  • Develop and maintain scripts in Shell, Perl, and Python to automate tasks and processes.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues with existing scripts.
  • Collaborate with team members to identify areas for automation.
  • Write clean, well-documented, and efficient code.

Job Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related field.
  • Experience in C/C++ programming languages.
  • Experience in scripting with Shell, Perl, and/or Python.
  • Experience with UNIX and/or LINUX platforms.
  • Candidates should have good knowledge of OOPs concept, Data Structure & algorithm.
  • Working knowledge of REST API principles and integrations.
  • Knowledge of validation principles, methodologies, and regulations.
  • Familiarity with software development life cycle (SDLC) and software testing concepts.
  • Attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality work.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work with cross-functional teams.
  • Ability to learn quickly and work independently.

Additional Skills/Preferences:

  • Experience in Regulated Industries: A preference for candidates with experience in license-compliance or licensing operation industry.
  • Continuous Learning Mindset: Strong interest in continuous learning and staying updated with the latest trends in software validation, testing tools, and best practices.
  • Cross-Disciplinary Experience: Preference for candidates who have worked in cross-disciplinary environments (development, operations, QA), demonstrating an understanding of end-to-end delivery pipelines.
  • Worked into geographically dispersed projects: Preference for those who have led validation efforts into distributed or globally dispersed teams, ensuring consistent quality across multiple locations and time zones.
