Job Overview:
You will be responsible for development of tools for PDK (Process Design Kits) Validation. This will require you to collaborate with various teams within Cadence and customers. You will have to understand the tool requirements, design and develop it and test it to ensure its quality.
The position is open for talented individuals who will contribute to software design, implementation and test, to maintain our current software releases and provide future innovative enhancements, driven by our customers' need to adopt new and advanced technology
Based at our Edinburgh office, you will have the opportunity to work as part of a highly experienced local team in a global R&D organization.
Job Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain the Virtuoso PDK Suite, the tool for testing PDKs, C++ and SKILL code base
- Absorb requirements for new features and create design, function and test specifications
- Work closely with team members to develop techniques to increase the performance, quality and stability of the software
- Interface with our build and regression system to test code commits as part of our development process
- Collaborate with a global cross-functional team providing product engineering, verification, documentation and programme management input
- Familiarity with how customer requirements shape the practical aspects of PDK development
Job Qualifications:
Bachelors in Electrical Engineering or Computer Science w/ Electrical as elective + 4 years of related experience, or
Masters + 2 years of related experience
Additional Skills/Preferences:
- Technical Skills:
- Strong C++ programming skills
- Good understanding of PDKs and CAD driven flows,
- Familiarity with Cadence SKILL language will be an advantage,
- Familiarity with development of test cases, its infrastructure, statistical analysis - coverage, performance and automation
- Experience in custom layout design or EDA industry - software developer in a CAD team. Preferred expertise using Cadence Virtuoso layout tools or similar,
- If possible, a work experience of developing PDK device library components and definitions such as Virtuoso techfile, SKILL parameterized cells (Pcell), symbols, CDF, callbacks, simulation/ netlisting,
- Familiarity with physical verification tools for DRC, LVS and parasitic extraction. Knowledge of Cadence PVS is a plus
- Soft Skills:
- Have a 'doing-things-right-the-first time' attitude, where quick turnaround time doesn't come at the expense of quality or vice-versa.
- Be comfortable working in a highly collaborative environment; providing and receiving feedbacks with team members.
- Have good communication skills
