Cadence is looking for a Desktop Support Engineer (Level 1) who is energetic, and a motivated individual to provide best in class Deskside Support to Cadence's Germany region while working from our corporate office in Feldkirchen. Successful candidate will be working with a team of 4 engineers at the Munich office TechStop providing support to the Corporate and extended Field employees.

This person will be joining a dynamic IT organization working with & actively collaborating with cross functional groups, participating in global IT projects, and working on improving processes and procedures to support Cadence's operations.

The successful candidate should be interested in learning and supporting cutting edge technologies to deliver Best in Class services to our employees. Ability to quickly comprehend the functions and capabilities of new technologies.

Must haves:

  • 3 years' Experience working on windows & related hardware.
  • IT1 level support experience is needed in managing escalated issues, working issue that have possibly already gone through level 1 support.
  • Experience working with teams, working on projects and initiatives.

Nice to have:

  • Car Driving License to be more flexible for visiting our different locations occasionally from time to time.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Front line on the ground local support for all aspects of IT for site in Feldkirchen, Germany.
  • Windows\MAC installations, troubleshooting, maintenance, service, and break-fix issues.
  • Troubleshoot applications issues on across multiple platforms including smart devices.
  • Assist users in daily problem solving and act as an escalation point to our service desk that relate to local user issues.
  • Will be required to work occasional unusual hours based on emergencies and maintenance needs.
  • Management inventory of systems & accessories while adhering to asset management process.
  • Manage assigned tickets while ensuring adherence to stated SLA's for all Jira tickets
  • Manage and maintain site documents as part of Site consistency program.
  • New hire onboarding process & distribution of equipment to the end user, also in home offices and other EMEA locations
  • Fixing equipment in the field, maintenance of operating systems and applications, as well as hardware issues
  • Regular maintenance of the educational services environment
  • AV equipment support
  • Backup support & helping hands in the local datacenter including physical installation of hardware & assisting in troubleshooting.
  • Remote Support of key Nordic office

Job Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's diploma in Computer Science or related field
  • 3+ years' continued experience in IT role preferable within multinational.
  • Experience troubleshooting windows systems in global environment.
  • Experience with all aspects of laptop, desktop & peripheral hardware.
  • Experience working on projects & ability to drive & own initiatives is essential.
  • Hands on & comfortable MAC systems in global environment.

Nice to have:

  • Deep OS and configuration troubleshooting.
  • Experience with systems tools including SCCM
  • Experience with Linux both installation & troubleshooting.
  • Excellent communication skills which will be required to engage with senior R&D and IT staff across the globe.
  • Knowledge and ability to troubleshoot basic networking problems.
  • Ability to develop scripts to automate common activities such as removing machines from the domain, adding or subtracting applications post image, etc.
  • Possesses excellent skills and experience in the area of Install Building / Package building using Industry Best Practices as well as Industryknown tools etc.
  • Ability to build MAC & Windows OS images and upgrade of OS & Microsoft O365 through SCCM.
  • Software packaging and deployment through SCCM.
