Responsibilities:
- Maintains our parts inventory for all equipment by providing a complete list of parts to be ordered, including the vendor to be used and the associated cost for each part.
- Monitor records of preventive maintenance performed on equipment and ensures that the maintenance occurs according to scheduled deadlines.
- Keeps informed of all new technology and equipment used by the technical support and production operations departments.
- Fills in and assumes all Management responsibilities in the Department Manager's absence.
- Accountable to meet or exceed Cost Per Unit targets on his/her shift (i.e. labor costs, overtime, inventory control etc.) • Monitors and improves machine efficiency. • Coaches, counsels, motivates, develops, supports, encourages and instructs all Technicians under direct report.
- Verifies all administrative work is filled out accurately, monitoring and following departmental procedures.
- Maintains all records pertaining to department personnel under individuals report.
- Span of control, approx: 3-8 FTA's + 6-8 TE's and all production equipment used by technical support and production operations.
- Position requires daily communication/ updates with senior management on strategic work scheduling issues.
- Monitors daily reports on thruput and equipment downtime giving feedback to department personnel.

- Functional/technical skills
- Attention to detail
- Good oral and written communication skills
- Ability to take direction and to work under pressure due to time constraints as necessary.
- Associate's Degree or Technical/Trade School
- 5+ years' experience and a proven proficiency in the operation and repair of production equipment.
- A proven proficiency in the operation and repair of insertion and bindery equipment, electronic and electric circuit experience necessary.
- Electrical and electronics repair is a plus.
- Knowledge, understanding and experience of reporting tools Jet/IQ
- Experienced in Microsoft Office.
- 3 years' min. supervisory experience in a high-volume production environment.
- 40+ hours Safety Training Certification
- •40+ hours external Certified Training on related equipment
- 8+ hours Safety/Electrical Training
- 16+ hours Recertification as needed on any/all existing training annually
