Position Overview:
As a Senior Application Developer, you will play a pivotal role in designing, developing, and maintaining applications for Broadridge's groundbreaking platform. You will be using the latest technologies (Java 21+, React 18, AWS, etc) to create the Broadridge Operating System, the common components and capabilities that will be used to build new applications and update the existing applications. This is a unique opportunity to be part of a team that specializes in platform development and committed to creating transformative solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate on the integration of ontologies with large-scale databases and data processing systems.
- Evaluate and implement tools and technologies for ontology management and provide guidance on best practices in semantic data modeling.
- Create applications to automate model generation, validation, and test data creation.
- Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to integrate existing applications.
- Work with product managers and stakeholders to gather and refine requirements.
- Collaborate with the DevOps team to integrate the applications in production environments.
- Conduct code reviews, mentor junior developers, and ensure high code quality and consistency.
- Stay current with industry trends and emerging technologies.
- Explore and integrate new technologies and best practices to continually improve our applications.
Required:
- Over 3 years of proven experience as a Developer with a strong track record of building and maintaining complex systems.
- Strong proficiency in Javaprogramming language and object-oriented design principles.
- Experience with Java frameworks such as Spring, Spring Boot, or Hibernate.
- Experience with building, testing, and deploying applications using automation tools.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and a commitment to code quality and best practices.
- Ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment using Agile methodologies.
- Proficient in programming languages such as Python or Node.js.
- Proficient with XML, XSD, JSON schema, and OpenAPI specifications.
- Experience with frontend technologies like React or Angular.
- Experience with RESTful API design and implementation.
- Familiarity with containerization and orchestration technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes) is a plus.
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related field is preferred but not required.
- Experience with RDF OWL, Collibra, ERWin, Protégé, Semaphore, Sparql.
Standard working hours are from 9 AM to 6 PM, with occasional adjustments up to 7 PM schedule to facilitate collaboration with our US team.
