PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Engineer and administer Middleware & Container Orchestration Solutions in on-perm and AWS architectures
  • Strong solution engineering and architecture experience in Middleware runtime platforms like WebSphere Application Server/ND/Liberty, JBOSS, Tomcat, APACHE, NGINX
  • Preferred experience to develop, plan and implement immutable infrastructure with AWS, Terraform, Chef, Python.
  • Experience in CI/CD environments and streamline deployments to AWS with Jenkins, Gitlab, and other tools
  • Ensure that the container orchestration platform (Docker/Kubernetes) is maintained properly by measuring and monitoring availability, latency, performance and system health
  • Assist development teams to migrate applications to Docker based PaaS platform
  • Build automation strategy migration & patching of Middleware products (JBOSS, WebSphere, Tomcat)
  • Ability to perform data related benchmarking, performance analysis and tuning
  • Strong skills in In-memory applications, Database Design, Data Integration
  • Involve in design and capacity review meetings to provide suggestion in Kubernetes Platform usage
  • Solid knowledge of monitoring tools and fine-tuning alerts on datadog ,Splunk, APM.
  • Providing naming conventions, Backup & Recovery and problem determination strategies for the projects
  • Monitor, prevent and troubleshoot security related issues
  • Provide strategic vision in engineering solutions that touch the Middleware space
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Overall 5-10 Years of experience in Middleware & Dev-ops System Engineering - JBOSS, Tomcat, APACHE, RHEL, Unix
  • Ability to build and troubleshoot Docker containers, experience with Kubernetes, or other container orchestration is preferred
  • Preferred experience in Automated provisioning of environments with Terraform or CloudFormation
  • Demonstrated ability to build and maintain code repositories with Git
  • Solid understanding of deploying and operating Linux variants in a containerized cloud environment
  • Frequent technologies used in this role would be AWS, Terraform, Docker, Python, Jenkins, Linux Shell Scripting, AWS CLI
  • In-depth experience in handling Middleware software Migrations
  • Good Understanding of Caching Solutions, Pivotal / Apache-Ignite would be an advantage.
  • Must have proven prior experience in managing large middleware environments at enterprise scale
  • Well versed in generic administration tasks of managing Docker images, container networking and standard infrastructure maintenance tasks on Docker and Kubernetes platform
  • Must have knowledge of Linux kernel options such as control groups and defining application groups to restrict resources
  • Good Linux system administrator skills and TCP/IP network fundamentals
  • Expertise in building automation tools in any of the programming language such as Terraform, Chef, Python or Golang
  • Experience with monitoring tools such as Splunk, Datadog, APM
  • Considerable experience in implementing RBAC Security
  • Support 24*7 Model and be available to support rotational on-call work
  • Competent working in one or more environments highly integrated with an operating system
  • Critical thinking skills to evaluate alternatives and present solutions that are consistent with business objectives and strategy
  • Ability to manage tasks independently and take ownership of responsibilities
  • Ability to adapt to a rapidly changing environment Ability to communicate highly complex technical information clearly and articulately for all levels and audiences.
  • Willingness to learn new technologies/tool and cross-train your peers
  • Proven track record to automate
