Your Purpose:
The Lead Station Engineer's primary responsibility is to oversee the efficient operation of all building systems and to inform the Director of Engineering of any condition affecting building services and Facility or Client safety and comfort. Specific areas of responsibility include: Client services, preventive maintenance, assisting the Engineering Director in the supervision of the crew (including staff development), purchasing and inventory control, contracted maintenance, and following the guidelines regarding general maintenance practices.

Your Role:
- Demonstrate the ability to understand the engineering design and operational aspects of the Base Building systems and be able to immediately recognize system performance deficiencies and respond to operational and emergency situations.
- Work with vendors and contractors regarding installations, preventative maintenance, and modifications ensuring that all safety procedures and guidelines are followed.
- Participate in the implementation of new systems and processes from a mechanical perspective in order to thoroughly understand the principal assuring the ability to train all maintenance staff on preventive and corrective maintenance.
- Assist the Engineering Director in the formulation and implementation of the preventive maintenance program including scheduling of preventive maintenance with minimum disruption of building services.
- Perform maintenance and monitoring repairs to the mechanical, plumbing, structural, furniture, control, and fire, life and safety systems to keep building systems up to applicable standards.
- Maintain HVAC systems and equipment at optimum levels (e.g., cleaning, inspecting, changing parts).
- Perform assigned facility inspections and due diligence efforts, reporting on as found conditions impacting satisfactory client occupancy and operations.
- Ensure quality checks on building mechanicals inclusive of HVAC, plumbing, electrical and related systems.
- Maintain documents of inspections and related code compliance.
- Provide oversight of contractors and ensure contractual fulfillment of services.
- Recommend, implement, and maintain quality controls for building systems and staff safety.
- Be current on mechanical, technical and management trends for optimizing efficiency of maintenance operational needs of the Association.
You:
- Possess minimum five (5) years of experience managing an engineering/maintenance team of five (5) or more individuals across various site locations.
- Have previous experience working with work order system such as JIRA, Angus, or Building Engines.
- Ability to efficiently compose emails with project details, and articulate plans to engineering teams or vendors; Strong communication skills with the ability to write detailed reports and project summary plans for leadership presentations.
- Previous experience with various building automation software and equipment such as Trane Connect, Johnson Controls, Siemens Desigo.
- Ability to organize and execute life safety inspections across multiple sites and ensure Fire alarm/Fire sprinkler compliance.
- Completion of an applicable technical training program is desirable or have a minimum of five (5) years of applicable working experience in general building repair and maintenance, basic plumbing, and basic electrical, team management, construction management, and multiple facilities sites supervision.
- Have thorough knowledge of building systems to achieve operating costs and satisfy customer requirements. Trane, Siemens, and Johnson control system knowledge. Work order system knowledge (JIRA, Angus, Asana) and familiarity on setup, reports, and data analysis. (5 years of experience).
- Proficient in life safety large-scale facilities testing during operational hours ensuring minimal guest interruptions such as fire alarm, fire sprinkler, fire extinguishers, and backflow certifications.
- Demonstrate aptitude for and/or have practical experience with large team (5-10 team members) development and training.
- Must have ability to lift a minimum of 80 lbs, use ladders up to 30 ft, and possess mechanical and electrical aptitude.
- Position requires frequent climbing, bending, kneeling, lifting, and driving.
- Must possess and maintain a valid state driver's license.
