MaxDelivery (a newly acquired company under the BOXD portfolio) is an on-demand, grocery delivery service. You can select from a wide variety of fresh produce, meat, seafood and packaged foods. Our unique vertically integrated operations, allows us to deliver your order within hours and always on-time. We are headquartered in New York and now expanding across the US.


As the Director of Retail Expansion, you will work closely with the senior leadership team to expand the Max Delivery operations throughout the northeast and beyond. The role is about leading the new development efforts including expansion planning and working closely with other corporate departments as well as local operational teams to launch new markets. This role will focus on building out real estate of dark locations for 1 hour delivery sites.

If you have not worked in expanding retail locations from location scouting through lease negotiations and full delivery staff training, do not apply.


Main Function
· Natural Builder – We will be part of the launch team. This means everything from high-level strategy to nitty-gritty operational details.
· Strategic planning – You will be required do put together well thought out strategic plans for launches and growth, coordinating with corporate marketing, operational and technology teams.
· Managing buildouts and launches – You will be a primary driver of the design and buildout of the new warehouse spaces, hiring the local talent, and shepherding the growth through the initial launch.
· Lead and co-work – You will be asked to lead projects and teams (Cross functional across SG, Corp groups and local operational teams)

Experience and Qualifications
· Minimum of 6 years of professional experience at Big Tech, management consulting or finance.
· Previous management role at start up is a big plus.
· Strong analytical skills. Previous experience in logistics, on-demand services, food and marketplaces is a plus
· Must have big picture vision and ability to focus on details. Both aspects are key to success.
· Partnership management and business development experience is a key qualification.
· Must have demonstrated experience of thinking outside of the box on an on-going basis.

· You must be a self-starter and not wait around
· Speed, resourcefulness, and go-getter attitude. This team moves fast.
· Must have proven past experience with ambiguity, problem solving and moving forward.
· Travel will be required. This role will require 30%+ travel time

This role requires knowledge of real estate and leases. Experience specific to expanding retail operations is absolutely required.
