Legal Program Analyst

As a Legal team member, you will be responsible for supporting our client screening process, Client Clear. We aspire to continuously monitor existing clients and review all new clients prior to engagement to complete our due diligence, mitigate any potential risks, and ensure appropriate business decision escalations occur during the client commercial process. This includes screening all new clients and initiating the process to mitigate any potential risks found. You will play an important role in the Legal Team to help reduce risk in our commercial activities, while implementing Agile principles in your day-to-day work.

Your primary responsibility will be as a member of the firm-wide client screening program. You will identify, remediate, and track any potential risks while developing controls, and managing escalations. You will be expected to maintain systematic and process related improvements with an eye to ensuring that the program is inclusive of all practice areas, regions, and clients of the firm.

On a day-to-day basis, your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

Review of new Clients through BCG's pipeline to ensure the client screening process has commenced, as required

Review and triage of alerts and reports around regulatory / non-regulatory reviews of our clients based on the specific topic areas including (but not limited to): Bribery and corruption, financial stability, negative media profiles, sanctions, restricted topics / industries, exclusivity arrangements

Facilitate the escalation process for decision making with relevant parties, including Managing Directors and Partners (MDPs), Practice Area Leaders (PALs), Client Portfolio Committees (CPCs), Compliance, as required

Develop and report on compliance metrics for screening activity

Adhere to SLA's; escalating any quality or timeliness issues with management for mitigation

Work with our software vendor and agile Legal squad teams to customize the system to meet our needs.

Partner with the Legal, Client, Risk/Compliance, IT and ClientView teams to continuously improve the ClientClear tool and process.

In addition, you may also be asked to contribute and participate in other global Legal Team initiatives:

Contribute to content development of new concepts, guidelines, tools and programs for other global topics as needed

Cross training on other critical legal processes as required

YOU BRING (EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS)

Bachelors degree or equivalent relevant experience

Minimum of 1-4 years of experience in a fast-paced, intellectual environment

Proven ability to work effectively on a distributed team delivering on high priority initiatives

Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Experience working with internal stakeholders and external vendors

Ability to work independently with general direction

Strong skills in Windows office (particularly Excel and PowerPoint); other platforms a plus
French language skills highly preferred
Prior experience or interest in Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) considerations
* Knowledge of or interest in transactions/M&A opportunities

Various members of our BCG Legal team, functional leaders within our Risk, Compliance and IT teams, as well as vendors supporting our technology products
