Legal Counsel

WHAT YOU'LL DO

Serve as champion of BCG contracting and risk management standards;
Draft, review and negotiate a wide array of complex commercial agreements, including global master services agreements, other client and vendor agreements, licensing agreements, subcontractor and partnership agreements and nondisclosure agreements; technology transactional matters and variable pricing agreements;
Be experienced in quickly and independently redlining and custom-drafting legal documents;
Implement and help to develop and champion BCG contracting and other policies and processes and provide assistance to seek approvals on deviations of contract or other policies;
Provide general counseling and management of a full spectrum of business and legal issues, which, in addition to general commercial matters includes particular focus on licensing and intellectual property topics, digital and technology, data protection, competition law and trade regulations, conflicts of interests, and other legal matters;

Identify risks and issues; suggest alternative solutions;
The geographic focus is global, though with a significant focus on operations in Central Europe, with a focus on Germany, Austria and Switzerland . You may also be asked to provide general counsel and advice across the full range of legal issues facing one of the world's leading multinational professional services organisations with a local focus on Germany and Austria.
You will have the opportunity serve as a champion in one or more of those areas. In this role you will not only support in your geography but you will be able to contribute to BCG's Global initiatives.
Team successfully across BCG and integrate fully into BCG's Global Legal Team to resolve or support resolution of complex legal issues;
Act as bridge and point of contact between functions and business for resolving legal issues;
Contribute to developing and maintaining Legal Team know-how, templates, technology solutions, and other key enablers;
Managing and directing consulting teams to navigate regulatory compliance issues;
Performing other duties as assigned or required.
In all cases, BCG's Legal Counsel will be an exceptional lawyer, able to efficiently deliver high quality work, and will have substantial experience effectively advising on and negotiating large commercial programs by deploying a strategic, outcome based perspective to transactions.

YOU BRING (EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS)

German qualified lawyer (Achieved First and Second German Staatsexamen);
8+ years of commercial contracting experience with international exposure;
2+ years with a reputable law firm preferable; prior relevant in-house experience preferred;
Excellent written and oral communication skills;
German and English fluency; additional continental European languages are a plus

YOU'LL WORK WITH
A variety of cohorts and functions across the company, including senior leadership. Members of the BCG Global Legal team, Finance and the Partnership. You will report into the Commercial group within the Legal Team.
