Lead Knowledge Analyst - Energy (Oil & Gas)

WHAT YOU'LL DO
As a Lead Knowledge Analyst (LKA) within BCG's Energy practice area, you will collaborate and partner in a growing BCG India team, providing industry & functional expertise and insights. You will work together with case and proposal teams to provide knowledge assets, analysis and expert advisory. You'll serve as a thought partner and content expert to case teams and topic/sector leaders, helping structure and solve complex issues.

Additionally, as an LKA you will drive development of intellectual property and knowledge assets to support the Oil & Gas topic within Energy sector, serving as an active contributor to commercialization efforts for the topic, whilst working with business leaders to drive proposals & go-to-market efforts. As an LKA, you may line manage a team of junior colleagues, taking responsibility for their goal setting, ongoing feedback and career development support.

BCG's Energy (EN) Practice Area helps companies navigate an increasingly complex business climate. We cover the oil & gas and power sectors, including all "green energy" sectors. We work with the full range of players in the industry: integrated international oil companies (IOCs), national oil companies (NOCs), upstream players, oilfield service companies, refiners, petrochemical producers, and oil trading firms, integrated power and gas utilities, international power producers, renewable specialists, energy wholesalers and retailers, commodity traders, and infrastructure and industry service providers, water utilities and waste-management firms, governments, regulators, industry associations, NGOs, technology companies, OEMs and suppliers to the energy and environment industry, energy-intense heavy industry players.

YOU'RE GOOD AT
Working with case (and proposal) teams

Establishing credibility with case teams by identifying and addressing critical knowledge for cases; taking positions/drawing conclusions on a range of external and internal issues; full case team integration can be possible up to 12-16 weeks in a year.

Participating in client calls and workshops and eventually leading modules leveraging the proprietary data assets and deploying specific methodologies

Supporting client proposals by compiling data and relevant information, providing research, topic input to the proposal team

Codifying knowledge / maintaining assets & tools across EN PA based on client contexts.

Supporting BCG Partners & Principals on proposal, leads and other marketing activities.

Communicating with senior stakeholders, in a credible and confident way

Working with topic/sector teams

Working closely with KT experts to collect, disseminate, and commercialize BCG's intellectual property.

Developing proprietary knowledge for the Firm (such as conducting Industry Benchmarking, creation of databases, writing whitepapers and internal knowledge docs)

Collaborating on EN PA intellectual capital development such as Tier 1s.

Promoting innovation at BCG by recognizing new concepts and facilitating their capture (e.g., facilitates documentation for KM of new framework developed as part of client work)

YOU BRING (EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS)

4+ years of consulting experience in relevant Energy topic required; candidates with consulting experience preferred.
In lieu of consulting experience, 6-10+ years of industry experience strongly preferred.
Master's degree or equivalent - preferably in business administration or business management with energy background.
Excellent analytical and conceptual rigor, along with strong written & verbal comm. skills
Strong organization and prioritization skills, and ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
Ability to work independently in absence of supervision and to exercise sound judgment.
Team player with ability to work with different seniority levels from different regions.
Strong work ethic & service-mentality.
* Experience working with third party databases / data sources, preferred.

As a Lead Knowledge Analyst, part of India Knowledge Team, you will work closely with Energy PA Leadership in India. You will also collaborate with global topic leads & colleagues across BCG to bring expertise and capabilities to the service of our internal and external clients. Our team is made up of a diverse pool of knowledge positions that allow us to pursue exciting, innovative knowledge careers.

The Knowledge Team (KT) is a group of functional and/or industry experts leveraging deep domain knowledge to enable insight for case teams and clients. KT members are affiliated to BCG Practice Areas, plugged into the strategic agenda, and building and deploying leading edge IP data tools/assets to deliver insight.

BCG's Knowledge Team members are staffed on cases and help co-create insights with case teams and clients through expert perspectives on industry trends, delivery of proprietary data or tools in a particular function and complex research and analysis of market information. KT members also support the PA's business development and proposals and help to organize and codify the knowledge that enables BCG to deliver superior business value for its clients.
