The Application Data Services department provides world-class database and streaming solutions, both on-premise and on public cloud, to our infrastructure and product development teams. We ensure secure, reliable, and scalable transport and storage of data for our business and infrastructure services. Our data services currently cover technologies like MySQL, Cassandra, Kafka, Confluent, and Elasticsearch. We plan to expand this with complementary cloud database technologies.

As a Tech Product Manager for this role, you'll be responsible for defining and executing the strategy for the MySQL Tooling area. This track oversees both on-premise and on Cloud services such as MySQL on prem and RDS and Aurora. You will be responsible for defining, communicating and executing the Cloud strategy for enabling Cloud migration and adoption by all Booking teams.
Who You Are
- You have experience managing technical products, such as infrastructure services and/or internal tooling, both on Cloud and On-Premise
- You define vision and strategy based on real customer needs, basing decisions on facts rather than opinions
- You possess excellent communication skills and use them alongside data to manage a complex range of stakeholders and users
- You're self-motivated and able to navigate ambiguity and complexity at scale within a matrix organization
- You work closely with engineering teams to design and deliver your product roadmap
- You collaborate with other Product Managers at Booking to drive adoption of our services and ensure they deliver value to users
- You define criteria for successful integrations with other services and drive execution
- You work with cross-functional teams to drive business impact
- You value agile development processes and seek constant improvements
Your Experience
- 3+ years of product management experience building technical products
- Consistent track record of delivering large-scale, highly available software and services
- Proven ability to influence technology teams and multiple stakeholders using data, standards, and best practices
- Experience in new product/platform development and delivery in complex environments, sizing up business opportunities and translating them into product requirements
- Ability and drive to learn our infrastructure and technical foundations, system architecture, and the technical direction of Booking.com
- Knowledge and experience in end-to-end solution delivery
- Strong interpersonal skills focused on clear communication, collaboration, and building relationships within diverse engineering teams across the organization
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and project management skills
- Excellent stakeholder management skills
- Fluency in English, both spoken and written
- Computer Science background is a plus
