Role Description:

As a Data Scientist II of the App Marketing Analytics team, you will work on measurement and optimization of all Booking.com app marketing channels (GTA, preinstalls, Apple Search Ads, Google ACi, Meta / Facebook, Liftoff, etc). You will be responsible for the performance of these channels, partnering with marketing operations and product development teams, as well as applying relevant statistical methodology to estimate, optimize, and report on the incremental value of app marketing campaigns.

Within Growth Marketing, App Marketing Analytics focuses on app install campaigns. Our goal is to drive app user acquisition and visibility across the app marketing mix.

Key Job Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Own paid app bidding by developing and implementing algorithms that allow us to compete in auctions for paid install sources
  • Measure and optimize the incremental value of an app install
  • Measure and optimize the synergies across the app marketing mix (paid and direct channels)
  • Leverage incrementality insights to allocate resources across the app marketing mix

Qualifications & Skills:

  • 3+ years of experience working in Data Science roles; advanced degree preferred (Statistics, Econometrics, Applied Mathematics, Marketing Science, or similar) (mandatory)

    • Strong working knowledge of statistics (mandatory)
    • Strong working knowledge of SQL and at least one scripting language (Python or R) (mandatory)
  • 1+ year of experience working in Marketing (desired)

    • Experience using experimental and non-experimental methods to calculate the incremental return on investment of campaigns (desired)
    • Experience analyzing campaigns using privacy-preserving data (SKAN, data clean rooms / sandboxes) (desired)
    • Understanding of auction theory and competitive dynamics (desired)
  • Analytical, strategic, humble, entrepreneurial, and data-driven (mandatory)
  • Comfortable interacting with stakeholders throughout the global organization (mandatory)
  • Strong communication and presentation skills (mandatory)
  • Flexibility to accommodate change and thrive in ambiguity (mandatory)
