Role Description:
The Commercial Manager is responsible for originating, managing, implementing and optimizing the commercial strategy and activities reflecting Booking.com and Fintech BU's strategies and payments-related P&L; overseeing key aspects such as business development, contract negotiations, pricing strategies, and Fintech partner relationships. This role is key to driving revenue growth, payment recovery, and competitive positioning in the market. However, it is NOT an account/partnership management role. We expect you to act as a business owner driving the growth and health of Fintech BU's P&L.
Key Job Responsibilities and Duties:
- Business Development and Fintech's Revenue Growth: Lead the identification, pursuit, and conversion of new business opportunities in alignment with organizational goals.
- Contract Negotiation and Management: Oversee the negotiation of commercial contracts, ensuring they meet legal, financial, and operational standards, and reflect mutually beneficial terms and protect Fintech and Booking.com's interests.
- Get things done. Oversee and own parts of the efforts execution and implementation. Own it many times end-to-end, successfully coordinating multiple internal and external stakeholders.
- Stakeholder Management and Cross-Functional Collaboration: Serve as a key liaison between internal teams (data science, product, engineering, finance, legal, operations, etc.) to drive business case building and smooth execution of commercial activities and projects.
- Team Leadership and Development: Lead and mentor a team. Provide training, support, and professional development to team members to enhance performance and growth.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Minimum 5 - 8 years experience in payment industry
- Proven track record of successfully managing and growing business, driving revenue, and negotiating contracts
- Critical thinking and problem-solving skills to address commercial challenges and identify opportunities for growth. Analytical skills and very strong P&L understanding.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present complex information clearly to stakeholders at all levels.
- Demonstrated experience leading and mentoring high-performing teams.
- Bachelor's degree in Economics, Business, Commerce, Finance, or a related field. Master's degree, MBA or professional certifications in commercial management is a plus.
