Role Description:

This role is part of the Product Operations organisation within the Partnerships department in Booking.com. The organisation sits between Product and Commercial, owning/supporting and driving the API product support and implementation of all Partnerships API products as well as the process innovation and optimization for the organisation.

The team is responsible for trouble-shooting issues, gathering product feedback and working closely together with Account managers on partner performance.

Your role as an API Specialist is to own the technical and operational support for our Third Party partners (connected via Data Portability API) and our Strategic Partners (connected via Demand API). You will guide new partners with their API integration and ensure optimal performance from API integrations across Partnerships. You will support migrating partners to new API versions and functionalities and support product improvements to the API that would benefit partners and increase performance.

Key Job Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Assist Account Managers and partners with the implementation of API integrations
  • Contribute to the development and maintenance of the API documentation, working with our partners to ensure scalability of the systems and supporting with queries that may rise
  • Onboard new partners
  • Key communication of developments in the product to all relevant stakeholders
  • Ensure close contact with all account managers and partners on a technical and operational level.
  • Proactively suggest and present improvements for processes
  • Have a keen interest in supporting Booking.com with its business; you understand that behind any design decision there is a business need to be fulfilled
  • Be responsible for small and medium sized projects.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Previous experience within a Tech, Product or Partner support role or similar
  • Eye for detail
  • Strong work ethic; self-directed and resourceful
  • Solution-oriented and results-driven
  • Proactive, flexible and capable of working independently as well as working in a team
  • Good communication and analytical skills
  • Ability to adapt communication styles and influence partners
  • Ability to translate research into practical, strategic solutions that optimise partner performance
  • Problem-solving skills
  • Business awareness and experience working with commercial teams and business partners is a plus
  • Knowledge of API/Connectivity topic and needed tools (XML, JSON, Postman)is a plus
  • Bachelor's Degree preferred

You are expected to lead by example by showing a positive can-do attitude and role modelling the principle of taking ownership and other Booking Values.

This role requires excellent communication skills, great attention to detail and good business and technical understanding. You will be keen to develop and grow within the role and to take on additional challenges and responsibilities as they occur.
