We're seeking a future team member for the role of senior business analyst to join our Strategic Sourcing team within the Enterprise Sourcing Office. This role is in Chennai/Pune

The senior business analyst plays a key supporting role in BNY Mellon's Enterprise Sourcing Office (ESO) and Strategic Sourcing function. The ESO holistically manages third-party related activities under one global framework across BNY Mellon.

In this role, you'll make an impact in the following ways:
  • You will be responsible for providing critical business analytics in support of business case content to support the analysis of the bank's vendor population to develop sourcing strategies across all of the BNYMellon's sourcing categories, including but not limited to Professional Services, Enterprise IT, telecom, market data, Facilities and Corporate Services. This includes supporting cross-functional teams to perform market analysis, identify business demand, conduct business analytics, develop business cases, guide business lines to optimize the use of the Bank's implemented sourcing strategies.
Principal Duties and Essential Responsibilities
  • Support our external and internal research needs for vendor and spend category research including support to Strategic Sourcing Category leads in planning, development and implementation of category plans and strategic sourcing initiatives
  • Work with Category leads, business stakeholders and ESO team to identify business requirements and subject matter experts for development of category strategies. Analyze business requirements and work with Category leads to translate into effective category management strategies (global, regional, country, etc.)
  • Build category profiles - perform analyses across spend categories and external content/research and assemble into a package
  • Gather and perform analyses of complex market information for development and implementation of category strategies and supplier engagement
  • Define and document category strategy requirements and business demand
  • Support Category management and strategic sourcing through category lifecycle, annual reviews and ongoing business demands
  • Develop spend projections (modeling) by vendor/category
  • Support operational rollout and support of preferred vendor catalogues, category strategies and exceptions or escalations
  • Work closely with the data analysis to buildout complete profile for categories, vendors, etc.
To be successful in this role, we're seeking the following:
  • Work experience and knowledge across strategic sourcing and expense management in financial services or other related industry
  • Other Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree in business, supply chain management, finance, technology, or related field, or equivalent work experience.
  • Five or more years' experience as business analyst with demonstrated success and progressing responsibility.
  • Knowledge of procurement sourcing process and category strategy development a plus.
  • Outstanding interpersonal, communication, and writing skills, with the ability to engage at all levels within the organization, including senior management, as well as with suppliers.
  • Highly organized individual, with excellent time management skills and the flexibility to handle multiple projects.
  • Ability to start and finish tasks with minimal management oversight and maintain a positive attitude.
  • Highly proficient in MS Office Suite.
