Who We Are

The Network Management team manages BNY Mellon's network of sub custodian and I/CSD direct relationships across more than 100 markets for custody, depositary receipts and cash correspondent services, selecting and appointing new vendor relationships, monitoring regulatory compliance and performance of the existing network, managing market and vendor changes and events, delivering market insights and expertise to clients, bringing them and our custody organization closer to the market and advocating with market players for international best practices and market changes.

What You'll Be Doing

In this role, you will be acting as Resiliency Lead for Network Management, reporting to the Sr. Group Manager of the Global Network Oversight's Regulatory Development & Controls Unit. You will be responsible for engaging across Legal Entities, Businesses, Operations, Risk and Control Management, Legal, Compliance, our Enterprise Resiliency Office, Technology and Cybersecurity amongst others to support and advance key resiliency missions and deliverables (see Job Responsibilities):

Job Responsibilities
  • Global Business Recovery Coordinator
  • Business Resiliency Coordinator for Network Management:
    • Develops and improve optimal Business Continuity Plans for Network Management's team globally, identify resiliency risks and recommend mitigating solutions.
    • Coordinates all testing programs (call tree, cross-regional recovery, alternate procedures), the annual quality review and yearly attestation of the business preparedness. Evaluates results, identifies gaps, and draws conclusions to inform the development of an appropriate plan response.
    • Ensures staff training on recovery strategies, execute the strategies upon disaster occurrence
  • Resiliency & Incident Management
    • Acts as Network Management's resiliency lead for its vendors or markets incidents, working in close collaboration and engaging with key internal stakeholders in the all lines of defence to define, maintain and improve Network Management's incident management playbooks, and enforce their adoption.
    • Implements and coordinates defined playbooks, organizes and chairs key bridge calls as required depending on the nature of an incident, escalates issues to senior management and proactively connects with and act as Network Management's representative in different senior level forums reviewing incident resiliency matters.
    • Collaborate with the Enterprise Resiliency Office, BNY Mellon businesses, Operations, Technology and leaders in other groups/functions to develop materials supporting the firm's operational resiliency initiatives, displaying a leading attitude for matters relating to subcustodian and infrastructure type (I/CSDs) providers.
    • Vendor contingency framework
    • Engages with key partners to address resiliency objectives and to develop key indicators and criteria for vendor business continuity and recovery objectives.
    • Defines overall vendor contingency network requirements and recommends associated implementation plans, driven by a clearly defined risk- based approach.
    • Engages with key stakeholders to review, maintain and improve those plans and related contingency activation playbook for Network Management's vendors.
  • Recovery & Resolution
  • Accountable for the update and improvement of the BNY Mellon Recovery & Resolution Playbooks for key material entities (subcustodians and International/Central Securities Depositories).
  • As playbook delegate, conducts workshop meetings and ensures cooperation from the appropriate stakeholders to update BNY Mellon's Corporate and Legal entity specific recovery and resolution playbook for assigned entities, within set timelines.
  • Actively reviews and comments on Network Management's sections of corporate or legal entity playbooks, identifying gaps, risks and solutions, outlining changes required directly or to Network Management's representatives at BNY Mellon's Office of Recovery and Resolution Planning.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree, or equivalent combination of education and experience (advanced / graduate degree is preferred).
  • 7+ years of total work experience in the financial services industry, preferably for or with a large financial services firm .
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills required, strong presentation and verbal communication skills, comfortable presenting to senior level management. Excellent attention to detail .
  • Strong analytical, process flow and operational mapping expertise .
  • Self-motivated, takes ownership and pride in producing work of the highest calibre.
  • Team player with a collaborative, engaging, flexible attitude and dynamic / adaptive approach.
  • Ability to work independently and adapt to changing priorities.
  • Successful project manager with experienced / well-developed leadership skills.
