The Innovations Senior Specialist will work in BMW Product Management Americas (C4-P) and is responsible for shaping innovation, equipment and component ("Baukasten") strategy for the Americas in cooperation with BMW headquarters in Germany (product strategy, innovation & equipment management, strategic product management).

Key Responsibilities:

  • Analyze competitive situation and future trends for vehicle innovations and equipment.
  • Research the as-is and forecast the future to build a consensus on the target picture for the vehicle
    innovation and equipment offer.
  • Analyze opportunities in the product equipment offer including "whitespace" or sunsetting existing
    equipment based upon market trends and competitors.
  • Build consensus between region Americas markets (Americas comprising US, CAN, LAT-AM) for our regional position
    & defend this position on a global scale, and align with the other regions (Europa, China, rest of world)
  • Research and analyze market conditions with respect to product equipment and components (special
    focus on innovations).
  • Act as expert on US market trends concerning vehicle equipment and components.
  • Liaise with the non-US markets to represent their needs among the greater region (esp Canada
    where the model type is US).
  • Act as an advocate for the product managers/specialists in the team to ensure their requirements are
    met by our future concepts, and ensure a cross-vehicle consistent strategy and offer of equipment.

The pay range for this role is: $105,213.00 - $123,780.00.

The selected candidate's education, skills, experience, and location will be used to determine the final salary offer. All pay ranges are based on a full-time work schedule. This statement is in accordance with state and local pay disclosure requirements.

Qualifications

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Marketing, IT, Engineering, Economics, or related field
  • 5+ years working experience in product development, product planning, product strategy, engineering,
    or comparable functions
  • In-depth understanding of the Automotive industry (strategy, market segments, innovation scouting, equipment offerings and trends).
  • Strong communication skills (visualizing data, verbal, negotiations

Preferences:

  • Experience in project management, technology scouting, or similar.
