We are looking for a Bureau Chief with exceptional news judgement and people skills to lead a team of reporters and editors in Zurich and Geneva. As head of Switzerland, working out of our Zurich bureau, you'll play point on the nation's biggest stories -- from banks and pharmaceuticals to consumer goods and the Swiss National Bank.

Your drive to be first will put us ahead of the competition and you'll represent Bloomberg with external newsmakers while building a network from across the organization to support and promote the team's work. You will also be comfortable speaking on all our different platforms, including television and radio, and moderating at events.

- Demonstrate exceptional news judgement
- Be an experienced people manager, with a proven track record of success
- Write and edit clear and comprehensive stories
- Regularly break news and produce high-quality enterprise pieces
- Work effectively across multiple teams, platforms and stakeholders
- Manage and spend time in both locations, with a focus on making sure we're ahead on breaking news
- Attract top newsmakers to our new office in Zurich and build on the positive reputation of both bureaus externally and internally
You'll need to have:
- Experience working in business journalism, preferably with a focus on covering finance, global business, markets or economics
- Demonstrated ability to build sources and produce scoops, this-just-in news and enterprise
- Proven leadership skills
- Ability to delve into unfamiliar topics and produce fast, clear and thoughtful copy
- Experience working as part of a broader newsroom and an all-hands-on-deck spirit
- Fluency in English and German is essential. French knowledge would be an added plus
