The Platform Engineering Team is a critical function as part of the Aladdin Engineering organization and is responsible for designing, delivering, and operating an open, resilient, cost-efficient and scalable technology platform that empowers innovation in the Aladdin ecosystem. This team is a foundational part of protecting our estate and driving new revenue and scale channels for our clients and BlackRock.
As a highly skilled and experienced business and technology leader in the Hosting Business Office:
- You will spearhead the strategic management and optimization of BlackRock's hosting estate. This critical role requires a strong technical background, project management expertise, and in-depth knowledge of key trends across cloud transformation, enterprise technology, and financial services.
- You will contribute as a relentless driving force behind the transformation of our organization and empowerment of the Aladdin community within and beyond the walls of BlackRock. This means that the successful candidate will have a critical seat in accelerating Aladdin and BlackRock for the next 30 years.

Key Responsibilities
- Hosting technical strategy & architectural excellence: Craft technical strategies related to cloud native transformation, on-prem architecture, workload migration, and more in tandem with senior engineering leadership.
- Program management & execution: Design programs and manage execution for critical initiatives that encompass both cloud and on-prem technology stacks.
- Hosting governance, demand management, and prioritization: Design frameworks and manage venues for aligning business needs with hosting capabilities across strategic, technical, and financial dimensions.
- Cost optimization: Drive accelerated evolution through enhancements to tooling, reporting, and roadmap planning. Mature our hosting optimization programs, uncovering additional savings opportunities and aligning them with optimal engineering practices.
- Hosting resource management: Collaborate with engineering leads to track resource utilization and provide strategic perspective on capacity management.
- Cross-functional collaboration: Manage a wide variety of stakeholders both within Aladdin and horizontally across BlackRock businesses. This includes (a) operating forums with key senior leaders to foster greater understanding of the technical, business and financial impacts of our hosting estate and (b) ensuring delivery of rigorous financial reporting in partnership with our Finance and Business Management functions as part of monthly and annual processes.

Desired Qualifications
- 8+ years of combined enterprise leadership and technical experience in Financial Services or Technology running a globally diverse engineering team.
- Proven track record of accomplishment and successful navigation in large, complex organizations, specifically, successful deliveries of technology focused products through the entire product development lifecycle
- Superb engineering leadership experience across complex/cross functional initiatives - the ability to operate in a fast-paced environment, manage multiple tasks, adapt to change and work well under pressure and tight deadlines.
- Excellent analytical and technical skills, with working knowledge of cutting-edge engineering applications, software development methodologies and product technologies
- Experience running Agile teams with a proven passion to improve yourself and your squads, with results to evidence.
- Strong intellectual ability and stakeholder management skills evidenced by being able to establish his/her credibility and influence with senior leaders throughout the firm.
- Ability to adapt to changing priorities in a dynamic business environment and continually reprioritize to focus on the key issues/topics.
- Outstanding interpersonal characteristics, reputation, and team orientation, which will enable her/him to earn confidence, loyalty, and respect of colleagues, as well as be a dynamic enterprise contributor as part of the Platform Engineering Leadership team.
