Job Title: Vice President, Systems Software Engineer

Job Duties: Embark on a Greenfield project to transform mature Project Management tool sets into an integrated persona-based platform with streamlined user workflows and a high degree of automation and scale. Work closely with BlackRock Portfolio managers to help deliver tools to external clients. Partner closely with world class Product Managers, UX designers, Quality Assurance Engineers and Client Support teams to deliver high quality, scalable and resilient PM capabilities. Hands-on software developer working on strategic products and assist with upgrading the Aladdin platform. Develop or direct software system testing or validation procedures, programming, or documentation. Hands-on coding using Java including SpringBoot. Building scalable server-side applications for deployment across a wide range of platforms and environments. Analyze information to determine, recommend, and plan installation of a new system or modification of an existing system. Consult with customers or other departments on project status, proposals, or technical issues, such as software system design or maintenance.

Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field of study and six (6) years of experience as an Associate, Software Engineer, Vice President or related occupation. Must have six (6) years of experience with: Java development; Whole web stack, including protocols, web client server performance tuning and optimization techniques; and Interfacing with RESTful APIs and Websockets. Must have five (5) years of experience with: Design patterns and SDLC including Springboot, design, development, testing, debugging and automation techniques; Cloud platforms, including Kubernetes, Docker, and Azure; Micro frontends and micro services; Finance, investment or portfolio management processes and ability to translate business problems into technical solutions; and Leading development teams, projects, or being fully responsible for the design and technical quality of a significant application, system or key component. Must have two (2) years of experience with: Agile SDLC using test frameworks like Cypress, Mocha, Jest and Karma.

For San Francisco, CA Only the salary range for this position is USD$205,000.00 - USD$215,000.00 . Additionally, employees are eligible for an annual discretionary bonus, and benefits including heath care, leave benefits, and retirement benefits. BlackRock operates a pay-for-performance compensation philosophy and your total compensation may vary based on role, location, and firm, department and individual performance.
