We are seeking an ambitious individual to lead the BGM RDnA ("Research, Data and Analytics") team in India. We are a community of finance professionals, researchers, quants, computer scientists, user experience designers, and data analytics engineers.
Our global team is based in San Francisco, London & Hungary, and we will complete the global circle with a new engineering team in Gurgaon, lead by the successful candidate. Our unique team structure enables us to go from idea to product completely within one team. The team is highly sought after to tackle analytically intensive challenges and present them in intuitive and visually compelling ways. Given the complex nature of our business, we value open communication and eagerness to learn.
About BlackRock Global Markets
BlackRock Global Markets ("BGM") functions are at the core of BlackRock's markets and investments platform, including ETF and Index Investments ("Engine"), Global Trading, Securities Lending, Liquidity and Financing. BGM is focused on advancing the investment processes and platform architecture in these areas and on ensuring we engage with other market participants in a collaborative, strategic way.

- Someone who considers and visualises future state and designs accordingly. As a senior technologist and team lead, you are always thinking about user experience, business analysis, or systems design!
- Someone who loves to mentor and guide your more junior colleagues, many of whom you will have hired.

- Striving to deliver business value and selecting the appropriate technology to match that objective.
- Seeking to deliver quality and attention to detail, be it design, coding, or code reviews.
Required Skills and Experience
- 10-15 years Java backend developmenor equivalent.
- Proven experience managing agile development teams
- Experience with systems design, business analysis, and teasing out requirements.
- An experienced collaborator, used to working with individuals from diverse business and cultural backgrounds.
- Strong curiosity of financial markets.
We value if you have
- Working financial knowledge and/or previous experience in a financial company.
- MSc or PhD in Computer Science or related tertiary education, or equivalent experience
- Knowledge of Spring, Spring Boot, and related technologies
- Knowledge of scripting languages such as Python
- Experience with MySQL, PostgreSQL, Greenplum, or similar databases.
- Experience with and good understanding of building and using REST APIs
- Experience with microservices and cloud technologies, such as Microsoft Azure
- Experience with DevOps and tools like Azure DevOps
