Business Unit Overview:
Our Product Strategists are a critical component of our investment success. They are seasoned investment professionals that partner with our portfolio managers and act as the link between them and client relationship managers, playing a central role in facilitating connectivity between investors and distribution. Product strategists represent their respective investment teams to both internal and external clients, acting as a specialized source of product and market knowledge. Product strategists are embedded within investment teams allowing them to deliver the highest quality investment communication to all clients globally.

Fundamental Equities is a key division at BlackRock with over $200bn of assets under management and over 240 investment professionals. The Fundamental Equities (FE) teams use traditional analytics to pick stocks and assemble coherent, deliberate and diversified portfolios.
About this role
We are actively searching to hire multiple Product Strategists ranging from Associate to Director primarily based in New York. We do also have a role in San Francisco.
The primary responsibility of the role will be to work with the senior product strategists, portfolio managers, and retail and institutional sales teams in promoting and growing products globally.
The individual will work in partnership with relationship managers (retail and institutional) to represent our capabilities and engage clients, prospects, consultants, and intermediaries on BlackRock's Fundamental Equities product range. The individual will also partner with global marketing and other key partners to promote and support the products. The individual will be responsible for delivering monthly, quarterly and ad hoc market and investment commentary to both institutional and retail clients.
The individual will work on one of the following product suites: U.S. Income and Value, International Equity, U.S. Growth, or Sectors & Thematics (with a focus on the Technology, Artificial Intelligence & Health Sciences strategies).
In addition to market commentary, the individual will be responsible for developing and maintaining marketing materials, delivering RFPs for new and existing business, and responding to client queries. On business development, the individual will assist on new product launches, seeking out innovative ways to engage our internal partners, guiding the onboarding of new institutional clients, amongst other business-related facets of the role. The individual will work alongside portfolio managers, senior product strategists to deliver a best-in-class experience for clients, prospects and internal stakeholders.
The successful candidate (s) will possess a growing knowledge of equity markets, the mutual fund or ETF marketplace, investment management and global economics. They will also have a very good understanding of the needs of a very wide range of clients. Additionally, the candidate must have exceptional communication skills and the ability to form trusted relationships and work across the organization.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop sales narrative for new and existing product offerings
- Maintain marketing materials for all strategies and product offerings
- Assist in the completion of RFPs and ad-hoc investor requests as well as coordinate and/or participate in updating investor performance reporting
- Write market/investment commentaries for investors, shareholders, current clients and prospects
- Represent our capabilities and engage clients, prospects, consultants and intermediaries on BlackRock's Fundamental Equities product range
- Proactively seek out new avenues of business development
Knowledge/Experience:
- Minimum of a bachelor's degree in a finance, business or analytical subject. MBA, other advanced degree and/or CFA designation preferred
- 5-10 years professional experience
- Knowledge and understanding of equities
Skills/Qualifications:
- Ability to understand and articulate financial markets, investment implications, fund management strategies & equity market performance clearly
- Strong analytical and project management skills with the ability to meet deadlines
- Strong presentation as well as oral and written communications skills
- Strong attention to detail
- Strong level of self-direction, ownership, organization and initiative
- Collaborative with proven organizational skills and ability to manage multiple objectives simultaneously
- Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and Excel and ability to develop familiarity and skills using proprietary BlackRock technology
For San Francisco, CA and New York, NY Only the salary range for this position is USD$137,500.00 - USD$194,000.00 . Additionally, employees are eligible for an annual discretionary bonus, and benefits including heath care, leave benefits, and retirement benefits. BlackRock operates a pay-for-performance compensation philosophy and your total compensation may vary based on role, location, and firm, department and individual performance.
