FMA operates as regional businesses that share a core mission and set of objectives. We partner closely on global opportunities while retaining a focus on regional clients. The Americas FMA team has considerable experience serving US-based banks, spanning G-SIBs to regionals, as well as market infrastructure providers, governmental entities, insurance companies and other financial institutions.
Role Overview
We are seeking a professional with expertise in analytics, markets, and technology to join our FMA team. You will be responsible for developing, utilizing, and overseeing analytical platforms and technical infrastructure, including BlackRock's Aladdin platform, to assist clients in achieving their objectives.
Candidates will have a solid understanding of capital markets and the technical expertise necessary to assess the business context and feasibility of client opportunities, enabling them to develop innovative solutions. You will design robust, scalable, and flexible frameworks that enhance client engagement and foster commercial opportunities.
This role provides valuable insight into financial institutions' priorities, markets, risk and regulation, and other relevant topics. Additionally, it offers significant exposure to BlackRock's analytical and technology platform.
FMA is charge of delivering many of BlackRock's most sophisticated cross-firm initiatives. This role partners closely with business divisions across the firm globally to enhance and leverage BlackRock's platform to drive the expansion of the firm's capabilities and strengthen the firm's connectivity with clients.
We stay abreast of trends in capital markets and financial institutions to anticipate their impact on client opportunities. Staying informed about the constantly evolving landscape of relevant technologies and tools is essential to success.
We are looking for candidates who can independently lead initiatives with targeted supervision. You will foster a collaborative team environment and will coach and train junior team members to support their development. We work in a fast-paced environment frequently subject to tight timeframes and focus on delivering meaningful impact to our clients.
Qualifications
- 5+ years of proven experience in the financial services industry, specifically in an engineering or software development role
- Proficient in Python programming with extensive hands-on experience; familiarity with other programming languages is a plus
- Skilled in using and / or developing financial analytical systems
- Experienced in leading development teams and / or managing technical projects
- Knowledgeable about financial markets, particularly fixed income analytics
- Strong understanding of software architecture and design principles, development standards, production environments, and relevant tools
- Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or similar technical field
For New York City only: The salary range for this position is $147,500 - $209,500. Additionally, employees are eligible for an annual discretionary bonus, and benefits including heath care, leave benefits, and retirement benefits. BlackRock operates a pay-for-performance compensation philosophy and your total compensation may vary based on role, location, and firm, department and individual performance.

Our hybrid work model
