Job Purpose / Background

The Investment Accounting Group (IAG) provides accounting and regulatory data services to over 33 clients with $1.2T AUM who have outsourced their accounting function to BlackRock. IAG is currently embarked on an exciting program of work to develop our accounting operating platform and to extend asset class coverage. As our business has expanded, we continue to grow our Professional Services offering partnering with clients to scale Aladdin® data ingestion, solution customized reporting requirements and to leverage automation technologies to increase efficiency in our overall processes.

IAG is seeking a Project Manager for the team and embrace your skills, eagerness, and passion while giving you the freedom to grow professionally. The successful candidate will be responsible for prioritization, planning, resourcing executing, and finalizing projects according to strict deadlines and within budget. This includes acquiring resources and coordinating the efforts of team members and outside resources to deliver projects according to plan.

Key Responsibilities

  • Define project scope, goals, and deliverables that support business goals in collaboration with senior management and stakeholders
  • Develop full-scale project plans and associated communications documents
  • Effectively communicate project expectations to team members and stakeholders in a timely and clear fashion
  • Estimate the resources and participants needed to achieve project goals
  • Draft and submit budget proposals, and recommend subsequent budget changes where necessary
  • Plan and schedule project timelines and milestones using appropriate tools
  • Develop and deliver progress reports, proposals, requirements documentation, and presentations
  • Proactively manage changes in project scope, identify potential crises, and devise contingency plans
  • Coach, mentor, motivate, and supervise project team members and contractors, and influence them to take positive action and accountability for their assigned work
  • Build, develop, and grow any business relationships vital to the success of the project

Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related fields
  • 3+ years of proven experience in project management in the Information Technology and/or Investment Management sector.
  • Experience with GIT or Azure DevOps.
  • 4+ years of software development experience using Python.
  • Experience with scripting languages such as Perl and Java.
  • Knowledge of SQL, performance tuning, and experience with Snowflake.
  • Experience with cloud platforms like Microsoft Azure is a plus.
  • Exposure to cloud technologies, process automation, and web development (Angular, React).
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to convey information clearly and concisely to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to synthesize information, summarize issues, and think creatively.
  • Sharp control/risk mitigation mentality, with the ability to know when to raise issues.
  • Willingness to challenge processes, propose solutions, and call out issues.
  • Strong attention to detail, organizational, and time management skills.
