Why is your role important?
The Global Trading Data & Analytics team is responsible for incorporating data-driven decision making into trading workflows. This involves building, measuring, monitoring, and embedding execution quality metrics into the management of the trading teams and businesses. Team members collaborate with various partners within and outside of Global Trading, in the creation of analytics, governance and engineering of trading data access and in articulating a strong trading alpha story to our clients. We also work with various research teams at BlackRock to conceptualize and implement automated trading solutions.
What will you be doing?
- Design and create trading metrics, with a focus on trading performance and effectively articulating trading alpha
- Interacting with traders, portfolio managers and other partners regularly on topics such as Best Execution metrics, workflow changes as it relates to performance, counterparty analytics etc.
- Help articulate and implement a data strategy for Global Trading, involving governance and data engineering to create common data access layers
- Help lead pre-trade and automation workflows where data or model driven inputs are used to build trade routing solutions to incorporate automation and data intelligence
- Establish organic data and analytics touchpoints with the rest of BGM
- Help create and maintain a robust, scalable framework for client cost analytics which can be utilized by client reporting and other relationship management teams
What are we looking for?
- 6-8 years of experience in an analytical or data engineering role in financial services
- Experience using complex SQL queries and BI tools to build strong visualizations
- Knowledge of trading workflows and products
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with an inclination for and experience in business user interaction, especially traders and PMs
- Experience with data science and trade automation a plus
- Knowledge of transaction cost analytics (TCA) a plus
- Experience in interactions with senior and cross-functional partners a plus
For New York City only: The salary range for this position is $150,000 - $204,000. Additionally, employees are eligible for an annual discretionary bonus, and benefits including heath care, leave benefits, and retirement benefits. BlackRock operates a pay-for-performance compensation philosophy and your total compensation may vary based on role, location, and firm, department and individual performance.

Our hybrid work model

Employees are currently required to work at least 4 days in the office per week, with the flexibility to work from home 1 day a week.
