About this role

Our Australian wealth team establishes relationships with advisers, wealth management firms and platforms to distribute a full suite of services across the BlackRock platform, including public and private market Investment capabilities across index and active solutions, adviser and market insights, and technology.

This Sales Associate role covers wealth clients for BlackRock Australia. Reporting into the head of adviser distribution the role requires supporting the execution of our business plan to drive BlackRock products and solutions to Financial Advisers across their appointed regions and client segments/panels. The Sales Associate will maintain a high level of client connectivity and represent the most comprehensive investment offering in the industry.

The Sales Associate will develop and cultivate relationships with existing clients and prospects in relevant region/panel. They will market a full range of investment options including traditional long-only strategies, alternatives, ETFs, and multi-asset solutions. The role, in combination with the team members, will be accountable for the financial results of an assigned book of business. Additionally, the individual will deliver best in class thought leadership, and investment solutions to prospects and clients to maintain and grow our share of wallet.

Responsibilities:

  • Work with the Australian Wealth team to develop and execute a detailed sales strategy with a focus on promoting the benefits and extending the usage of our products and solutions.
  • Identify opportunities to grow the business in the Wealth Advisory segment by developing and maintaining activity plans and ensuring a strategic approach to client engagement.
  • Proactively deliver relevant content and product information tied to research, market insights, and ideas to target clients.
  • Follow a team-based approach and leverage the Firm's resources at appropriate times in the sales cycle, to broaden and deepen the usage of BlackRock's products and solutions.
  • Work with the wider Blackrock Australia teams to identify and target existing and potential clients, as well as across appropriate external networks, such as platforms.
  • Understand each client's due diligence process and investment requirements and develop a strategic relationship with relevant gatekeepers through active coverage.
  • Represent BlackRock and build a broader understanding of our core products: ETF, index funds, models, and key active funds. This includes supporting educational seminars provided to small and large audiences that may require travel.
  • Required to attend industry events, trade shows, conferences, PD days etc. Maintain professional & client focused interactions during, set-up for success in the lead up and post-event follow-up.
  • Diligent use of client relationship management tools to record client activity/interaction.
  • Drive operational excellence in our new CRM Dynamics. Strive for excellence in the adoption and use champion best practices.
  • Administrative tasks: prepare client materials and reports for management, maintain pipeline, and executed trades in CRM, submit expenses etc.
  • Responsible to ensure that all regulatory and legal requirements and standards are met.

Qualifications / Experience Required:

  • Established track record in a relevant role.
  • Strong communication and relationship management skills.
  • Understanding of product set - listed and unlisted funds, and the competitive landscape.
  • Self-motivated individual, with a commitment to excellence.
  • Acute attention to detail, highly organised and high-energy self-starting individual
  • Multi-tasking effectively and ability to work in a team environment is critical.
  • Creative and curious with an interest to grow into a Relationship Manager role.
