Your Role and Impact
We have a superb opportunity for a Portfolio Manager to join our US Index Equity Investments team. This role encompasses all stages of the investment lifecycle for some of BlackRock's largest institutional clients. It includes managing complex transition management rebalance events, as well as handling daily portfolio management responsibilities. You will be responsible for helping the institutional clients to restructure their investment portfolios, delivering rebalance solutions to reduce costs and risks when undergoing large changes to their portfolio allocations. We deliver this transition solution by partnering with clients by understanding their objectives, creating custom solutions, and implementing trading strategies to achieve their goals. You will also be responsible for all aspects of index equity portfolio management of global equity exposures, including the day-to-day management, risk and performance analysis and business process reengineering.
We're looking for individuals who are passionate to learn, have natural curiosity, and have the ability to multi-task and operate in a fast-paced investment working environment. Attention to detail, interpersonal skills and technical knowledge are at the core of the skills required to be a successful member of the team.
Your Responsibilities
- Collaborating closely with clients to gain a comprehensive understanding of their investment portfolios and the desired strategic or tactical changes
- Conducting in-depth analysis of the portfolio changes to evaluate the shifts in exposure and required trading. This includes estimating all aspects of risk and cost, and devising bespoke trading strategies
- Coordinating the execution of the agreed strategy with the internal global trading desks, ensuring it performs as expected and making live market adjustments as necessary
- Perform daily portfolio management tasks, daily liquidity management, portfolio re-balancing, corporate action analysis, client activity, risk and performance monitoring
- Leading the team's communication and presentations with clients
- Establish strong relationships with our Global Trading teams to navigate rebalances and other large-scale investment events
- Engage with business partners to provide thought leadership and advice to promote high quality client solutions
- Help establish portfolio management best practices that can be shared globally and build our next generation investment platform
- Identify and drive operational improvements that lower risk and increase efficiency across the global teams

You Have

- Knowledge of programming language (Python) and/or financial instruments/derivatives are a plus
For California only the salary range for this position is $105,000 - $137,500. Additionally, employees are eligible for an annual discretionary bonus, and benefits including heath care, leave benefits, and retirement benefits. BlackRock operates a pay-for-performance compensation philosophy and your total compensation may vary based on role, location, and firm, department and individual performance.
