About Global Product Solutions:
BlackRock's Global Product Solutions business (GPS) was formed in 2024 with a mission to innovate, curate and commercialise the full breadth of our investment platform to meet our clients' needs, wherever they are. GPS partners across the firm to lead iShares and drive the commercial priorities across all the investment businesses. We do this by innovating the next wave of products and solutions, accelerating iShares adoption, sharpening our focus on active, scaling private markets and our transition businesses, and driving focus on commercial priorities through product prioritisation.
Role:
This role is based in the EMEA Investment Strategy team, part of the Investment & Portfolio Solutions (IPS) division within the Global GPS business. The Investment Strategy team helps clients to navigate financial markets and align their strategic and tactical asset allocation views with implementation ideas across index, active and alternative products, through regular client meetings, virtual and physical events, content, and internal forums.

The Content Team within Investment Strategy focuses on scaling macroeconomic, market and asset allocation views through whitepapers, articles, blog posts, videos, social media posts, client emails and webpages, spanning institutional through to retail investors across EMEA.
The ideal candidate needs to be proficient in their knowledge of financial markets and macroeconomics, and able to articulate macro and investment insights in a variety of short- and long-form internal and external content formats. The candidate needs to also be commercially minded, with a focus on placing client challenges and needs first and understanding how best to address them, turning them into commercial opportunities.
Key responsibilities include:
- Content production: originating content ideas and partnering with other members of the EMEA and Global IPS teams, as well as stakeholders from across BlackRock client, product and investment teams, to bring these ideas to fruition.
- Editorial: editing content produced by other members of the IPS team, including internal notes, as well as high-profile content produced by other GPS strategy teams (e.g. BlackRock Portfolio Consulting, Model Portfolio Solutions), and macro/market/asset allocation-related narratives for flagship marketing campaigns, including webpages, emails, social media posts, video scripts and other assets.
- Ghostwriting for senior stakeholders: understanding personal styles and tones of voice for a range of senior stakeholders to be able to write social posts for their LinkedIn accounts and contributions to internal firmwide strategy notes.
- Innovation and strategic projects: leading initiatives focused on improving content production and distribution efficiency and impact, such as onboarding the team's content onto new platforms, exploring ways to broaden reach to new markets and client types, and leveraging AI tools to improve the efficiency of content production and editing.
- Distribution planning and engagement analysis: partnering with Sales, Marketing & Corporate Communications colleagues to (1) devise distribution plans for content, (2) identify opportunities to underpin key regional campaigns with macro/market narratives, (3) establish new outlets for the team's insights, (4) engage with the press on both reactive and proactive topics related to the investment landscape and (5) evaluate the impact of Investment Strategy content to develop actionable insights that can inform future content strategy.
- Commercial acumen: applying a commercial lens to macro and investment views in order to generate actionable insights that drive flows into focus products and product segments.
- Maintaining industry knowledge: ensuring continual awareness of third-party research, insights and industry trends that can help to contextualise and enhance the Investment Strategy team's views.
- Workflow management: supporting the head of the content team with managing the content pipeline, maintaining accurate recordkeeping and sharing approved content with distribution partners.
Qualifications and experience:
- Investment writing or journalistic background, including minimum four years proven experience developing content on economic/market/asset allocation views. This may also include content production and distribution experience within investment strategy, portfolio management, research or advisory roles.
- Collaborative team player with a demonstrated ability to build strong working relationships at all levels of an organisation.
- Attention to detail and ability to deliver high-quality content to strict deadlines, in partnership with stakeholders across Global Product Solutions, BlackRock Investment Institute (BII), Portfolio Management Group, Sales & Marketing, Corporate Communications and other partners, is essential.
- Broad understanding of the asset management industry landscape, including ETFs and mutual funds is essential; deep asset management industry knowledge and experience and exposure to private markets is a plus.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Powerpoint & Excel) is essential; Bloomberg experience a plus; AI proficiency a plus.
- Experience writing for professional/institutional audience is essential; writing for retail/end investor audience a plus.
- Experience of video production also a plus.
